This truck has some key features I will list here. Please keep in mind this truck is not restored, only preserved. It is not anywhere near perfect, but a great survivor compared to most other examples out there.
Pros:- Rare big block truck with correct VIN on title designating it as a 440 truck- 2nd year of the Ramcharger - first year of this body style with full door frames!- Amazing to find in this nice of condition- The engine runs great!- It sounds great! I can send a video of the truck running if you would like to hear. It has stock exhaust manifolds hooked up to dual pipes. It has a great rumble, but it's not obnoxiously loud.- Both 4wd Lo and Hi work.- Brand new carpet!- No rust on the body!- Lights work along with the speedometer, temp gauge, and electrical gauge.- Paint has been buffed and has a nice shine to it!- Interior has a nice neutral small - doesn't smell like animals or cigarettes like a lot of old vehicles do.- Great throttle response- Nice big original side mirrors- Factory Deep Sherwood Metallic paint is the same that was used on the Chargers- A/C- Powersteering- Center Console- SE Package
Cons:
- Paint has some small rock chips, small dents, and scratches throughout. Some areas on the hood are faded through to the primer/bare metal underneath.- The removable top appears to have been repainted a long time ago in a textured satin black paint over top of the original paint. Looks decent, but definitely not perfect.- There are two rust spots on the removable top - see pictures for locations.- I believe the U joints, or transfer case up front are a bit worn - when you turn a sharp corner, you can hear clicking clicking noises up front. The truck has definitely had a lift kit installed at some point - the increase angle of drive may have cause something to wear more than normal. The truck drives fine otherwise.- Somebody installed an aftermarket radio years ago. The radio turns on, but I don't know if it is hooked up to any speakers at the moment, because it won't make any sound.- There are a few holes drilled into the under dash for extra lights and things - some of which were removed. There are also a couple tiny holes in the dash pad from where a CB controller was mounted.- The tires hold air, but they are definitely not road worthy. Cracking can be seen on the tread and sidewalls.- The front seats have some new strap-on covers in place right now over top of the torn original covers. It should be noted that the original front seat covers tore from the seams splitting and were not eaten by mice or anything like that.- The rear bench seat has a small hole in the back.- The driver's side front fender appears to have been replaced and repainted. You can see some orange paint underneath the green re-paint in a small spot where the paint wore thin on the fender top. Also, you can see that there is probably some thin bondo around the "Ramcharger SE" emblem on the same fender. The repaint is fairly well done and shows well, but it is definitely not perfect.- Some of the engine components have be re-painted orange at some point. Although, you can see the original [and correct] teal colored paint underneath in areas where the orange is flaking off.- The glass on the rear hatch top is scratched quite a bit.- Someone painted crinkle black paint on the lower rocker body line at some point. I suspected this was done to hide rust, but I inspected all the areas and couldn't find any rust. The crinkle black paint is flaking off quite a bit, and I only see original green paint underneath. I guess someone just wanted to add the black as an accent!- Someone wanted the top to be air tight ages ago, so they used caulking to seal the removable top to the body of the truck. We do not plan on removing the top or the caulking - that will be up to the next owner.- Fuel gauge does not work.- Tachometer does not work.- A/C pump is there, but one of the lines is cut and missing.
You don't find these trucks carrying around 440's in this nice of condition - ever! They are always rusted out and beaten! Get this one while it's still available.
