Description

This is a good solid truck, runs and drives great. Original 68533 mile truck.I want to get into the motor first. When I acquired the rig it had been setting for at least 7 to 10 years. It had been a small back country Johnson Creek Airport Courtesy Car.Written on the front doors is the faded out hand lettering and says Johnson Creek Courtesy Car. On the back doors says Great Pumpkin , Another Customer. The story goes that the engine is a later model correct 225 slant 6 that was taken out of a rig that was rear ended and was a 44,000 original miles motor. When I got it going I washed the motor off at the car wash without using any cleaner just the soap and rinse. As you can see the paint still looked fresh even on the manifolds.I pulled the valve cover off and it looked brand new. When I put on a new water pump it looked clean inside, not even any rust. After starting it it smoked so I put in cleaner trying to maybe free a stuck ring but still smoked.I took the compression and it was like a brand new engine with 150 across.I put in 30 weight oil and added a quart of Bardal and the smoking stopped. It has stopped the smoke the more that it is driven. Just want to be upfront and tell the story.I suspect valve seal or it is just breaking in the rings again. This is a very very good old truck and runs and drives great.I personally wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. It drives straight and has plenty of highway power and has a lot of work done to make it this way.The reason for selling right now is that we have sold our home and are relocating and no longer have my shop, or I would go further on this rig because it's special. I have put in a lot of money on the rig just recently including New brakes including wheel cylinders and Master cylinder. The hubs were good and clean. It stops great and straight. I put in a new clutch Master and Slave cylinder. It had a new clutch put in and the flywheel turned. The clutch is great and no chatter. New water pum, fuel pum, brand new Firestone Winter Force 235/75/15 tires all the way around with maybe 300 miles on them no, I found and installed the correct wiper arms a and blade, I had a new correct brass and copper heater core custom made at the cost of $280. Before I got i, it had a lot of $ worth of upkeep done without many miles put on it. That includes Clutch and turned flywhee, frontend king pins machined and replace, starte, altenato, carburato, distributo, and misc. upkeep. There will be a good stack of reciepts with the rig. All lights work blinker, brake light, das, headlights even the dome light. This is a 100 % complete truck including the the seats which are still in good shape. The gray tops need replaced but the black on the bottom backs are still stong and supple and the original could be repaired. I just put on some duct tape to keep it from coming appart any more. There is just one small spot on the rear wheel well that has some rust ( pictured ) from setting where a sprinkler was hitting it for the seven years that it sat.The body is solid and all doors are solid and and line up perfect and close good. There is one dent ( pictured ) one the left back door and and a scrape on the left rear but not bad. The original color was yellow but had been painted the orange for the airport car colors. There is only 3 things that I can think of that the new owner will have to do and they are very small and would be done by me but we are moving on. The cables for the heater and the cowl vent need to be lubed and worked with to losen up and 1 new wiper blade insert will need to be replaced. One mor, the rubber seals for the back side windows could be replaced. They repell water okay but have been fixed with silicone and silicone putty in places.Looks fine and works but would be nice to be replaced. Agai, this is a very solid great driving Town Wagon that is tight and without rattles and is 100% complete. Feel free to contact me and talk about any questions or concerns. Please contact us within 24 hrs of auctions end and please pay in a timely manner. A $1000 Down payment through paypal and balance through bank to bank transfer. The shipping is the new owners responsibility but I will assist all I can with getting the car loaded to the shipper. I have sold and shipped several rigs to many different places. The glass is all good except the passenger door window is cracked but is solid and very usable - All of the gauges work as should - the exhaust system is very good as, is the whole underbody - the truck as a whole is way above average condition
