She is a rare, low 61,000 mile, numbers matching, special ordered 1970 Adventurer Camper Special; This "Sweptline" has the 318 motor, automatic transmission, power assist steerin, power brakes and bright trim package.
I received the truck from a friend, a local automotive Legend, who had gotten her from the original California owner; a college professor who lived somewhere in the East county desert of San Diego, California. The truck the truck was put into "junk" status to save on registration fees. She sat in a corn field for a few years while he lived in the camper. All of his other life time treasures, including other vintage trucks, cars and tractors were there.
Billy brought her home, wiped off the years of dust, got her running well and did all the hard work of getting her pink slip California registration; now a "Salvage" title because she had been "junked". The camper shell has been removed. After cruising Southern California for the last few months, this great Sweptline is now ready for another life!
She is a very, very solid vintage Sweptline and does not have the typical front floor rust. The only spots that are rusted are the 2 lower door corners and their very small. The rockers are absolutely solid! The tailgate was never installed as she is an original camper conversion. The bed has lots of scratches and small dings from years of use, but no big dents and is as solid as the day she was built. And the patina of age has made her timeless! She will need new tires, figure about six hundred bucks installed.. This is a pickup that would make for a very easy restoration to collectors condition if thats your thing.
She was quite an expensive truck when new and would have been the Queen of the fleet, cherished by her owner! This Sweptline pickup will certainly turn heads wherever you take her and she will steal the attention away all over the street. . ..Guaranteed! This is a pickup truck that deserves to be driven.
Everything in the pictures is included..... Except Billy and the Cheesecake! I have lots of experience moving cars worldwide and will assist in every way.
