Description

I purchased this classic with the intent to restore it last Fall, but as life changes, I now need to sell it. This Eagle has a solid unrusted body, but needs some major TLC to bring it back to glory.
I got her out this Spring to take these photos, got it running but now hear a knock from the engine. I believe the 258 6-Cylinder will need to be rebuilt (not just the carburetor now).
SELLING AT NO RESERVE
I successfully drove it last September into my storage garage on a 3 hour trip going 65+ mph. It needs shocks, but tires look decent. I fixed a vacuum leak and adjusted the carb to idle nicely before storing it for the Winter (I was looking forward to the carb rebuild). I had not determined if the 4x4 was engaged (don't think so), as although the previous owner thought it was working, I think it had developed a vacuum leak in the system and was definitely not engaging/disengaging from the dash switch.
Interior is in good shape and everything seems to work (including the cruise control :).
Exterior has been repainted a while back by the previous owner to a factory available color at the time (gold). You can see the original brown in the truck lid photo.
Although the exhaust is surface rusted (I did quickly patch one small hole), it sounded good and quiet before the engine knocking developed. It will need brakes, as they work but seem pretty low to the floor.
All of the original vacuum lines and transmission linkages appear to be present above and underneath the vehicle. There are the typical fluid/seal leaks for this year a car.
So this is a great project for an Eagle lover, or someone wanting to restore the "first 4x4 car"! Sold as-is, and with no implied warranty... this baby needs a good home.
