1959 Edsel Corsair 4 door sedan, Premium trim level of the Edsel line for that year. Beautiful shade of yellow and plenty of chrome and stylish stainless accents. Nice example of 1950s styling. This car is low production, less than 3900 ever produced, and obviously a very unique and historically significant example of Americana. It's refreshingly different, So....here's your opportunity..
Same owner past 45 years, been parked in barn storage, however interior not really musty/mousy at all and reasonably well preserved. No unusual odors outside the normal. This car was driven into its corner and parked for its long slumber. NOT running. FE 332 V8 Engine condition unknown but, it appears to be all there, intact and should come back to life, with pre-oiling, and all the basics checked out and gone through. It can always be overhauled if necessary? These types of engines were used for many years and have proven to be reliable, powerful and easily maintained. Mechanically, these 59 Edsels are basically all FORD running gear hence, engine transmission differential suspension and brake parts may them be new, NOS and used are quite obtainable, reasonably priced and again reliable and economical to work on and operate. Radiator is out but, good unit included. Hood hinge is off. Rolls and steers just fine, tires all hold air, most have new tubes. (Note; Rear new white-wall tire is off my other cars spare but, a decent, FOMOCO 14" wheel and tire that holds air will be on it).
Original Pedal Yellow paint, still has good luster, (driver door was repainted at some point in time) rust in rocker panels (new replaceable/Ford), some in lower rear quarters and rear wheel opening lips some repairable rust there too but, not uncommon, otherwise solid and very straight. All very repairable. Most of the chrome/stainless is in nice shape, majority of the trim not shown I have hunted down and will be included. I even have the "Corsair" scripts. Again the car is quite complete and intact. I have a rear bumper that can be straightened and used.
Interior is nice original overall usable condition. Excellent interior floors. Nice steering wheel. Beautiful dash, nice instrument cluster. Radio looks good too! Very nice headliner, door panels. Needs carpet. Some side glass has a cracks but, not broken.
Nice original un-tampered overall condition. Good candidate to simply repair the bad stuff and preserve the rest. Again very straight body.
Only original one time around, so here you go.
