Hello Everyone,
Here is my "Striped Tomato" Starsky & Hutch 1974 Gran Torino offered for sale..... This car is signed on Glove Box and Trunk Lid by Paul Glaser(Starsky) and Antonio Fargas(Huggy Bear) as well as personally driven by Starsky last September here in NY with me.
This car is beautiful, professionally frame on restored, and driven occasionally. This is not a 100 point trailer queen however a very nice original 2B Red, 77K original mile California Torino... That's right.... No rust anywhere and all original sheet medal.
This Torino is a number's matching 351v8 2bbl C4 Automatic Transmission with 77,000 original mile's. The car has had a frame on restoration as noted above with new paint, painted underside(no undercoat to hide ugliness), rebuilt original 9"rearend, new steering box, completely brand new front and rear suspension, all new brake's(rotor's, drum's, caliper's, etc), new gas tank and sender, tire's, rim's, shock's, carpet, rechromed bumper's, and a brand new, new old stock, Motorola Police Radio and Federal Signal Siren that was professionally installed and work's.
This Striped Tomato run's and drive's well with no leak's, smoking, noises, rattle's, etc. The car has new Bias Ply Tire's however that ride terrible compared to Radial Tire's. The new owner should consider changing to Radial's. The Torino should be treated to a new performance Dual Exhaust as the current system look's new however beginning to lightly rust from the inside the muffler. The A/c hold's a charge for the Spring and Summer Season's than need's recharging. Although painted nicely, the jam's are original 2B Red Paint and look good. It has no other known issue's.
The reason I'm selling..... Hummmm...... It's personal however nothing to do with the Gran Torino or anything financial. The Gran Torino, the Starsky signed Cardigan Sweater, License Plate's, etc are all going with the car.... The buyer get's it all!!!!!
I encourage anyone interested to come see the car. Again the Torino is very nice, clean, and straight however not a show car perfect trailer queen. Please do not ask me to take a million more pic's, complain about money difference's or your taxes overseas/Canada, low ball me, and or call me with your love for this car and the TV Show! Sorry I just do not have the time. I have $30k invested in this car as is and my starting bid is $10K less to give a real buyer and a person into S&H a chance to own a beautiful Gran Torino for a fraction of what they cost.
