59 F-100/F-250 4x4 with 7.3 IDI Diesel Drivetrain
Description
Very solid shortbed set on a longbed highboy frame, not sure of the frame year. Front axle is a 79 Dana 44totaly rebuilt by a local 4x4 shop with paperwork. Rear is a Sterling 10.25 from a 93 F350 which was coded for limited slip. both axles are 4.10. It has power steering. The brake booster from an 89 F250 (diesel donor) was used, the truck stops on a dime. The 89 also provided the IDI ZF5, transfer case driveline, it 189,000 miles and still ran strong, trans and clutch worked well. Front springs were replaced with 79 two leaf springs but I think they could have been three leaf. Radiator is new heavy duty for a 79 F250/460. Fuel tank, gauges, tires drive shafts are new. Also included is a complete Painless wiring kit (electrics work as is). Body lift has been reworked. Short tires on one ton wheels were needed to get the truck in the garage which had less than 7' clearance. All front sheet metal was removed and painted with KBS coating similar to Por. There is some (minor for these trucks) rust at the back of the cab corners and the point where the bed floor meets the front of the box. The floor pan as it meets the firewall has had minor repair and could or not use some work in the future. It has been in the garage for about a year and a half and has developed an air leak in the fuel system so is reluctant to start. I don't have time and am about to lose my storage, so maybe it's time to go. I've tried to add other videos but no luck.
