1972 Ford Bronco EFI drivetrain
Description
Painstaking detail and pride were taken to restore this 1972 Ford Bronco running gear with Electronic Fuel injection (EFI) engine and a C4 Automatic transmission.
Details:Frame, differentials, radius arms and misc pieces professionally blasted and then painted with KBS rust sealant...semi-gloss top coat applied to prevent UV fading.
9" Rear differential:
3rd member upgraded with 4:10 gears, Eaton Truetrac...set by professional shop. New spring perches welded on that allow centering of wheel in opening. Longer perches also helps prevent axle wrap. New 31 spline axles installed. Rear brakes completely gone through and components replaced.
Dana 44:
Professionally rebuilt...4:09 gears, new bearing and seals. Disc brakes added...new rotors, hubs bearings, calipers, pads and brake lines. Mile Marker lockout hubs installed, axle u-joints and ball joints replaced, new tie rods and drag link installed.
C4 Automatic transmission:
Rebuilt by top builder...upgraded components with ability to handle 400 horsepower. Mild Transgo shift kit installed for firmer shifts along with rebuilt torque converter. New neutral safety switch, EFI kick down cable added. B&M deep fluid pan installed and temp sensor. (Type F transmission fluid)
D20 transfer case:
Transfer case rebuilt with new bearing and seals. Upgraded with twin stick shifter to allow separate shifting between front and rear differentials. New Custom Tom Woods drive shafts.
Engine:
S&J engine rebuilt...GT40 EFI upper and lower intakes with 19lb injectors refurbished by Fuel Injector Man. 65MM throttle body with throttle mod improvements, 70MM MAF with filter. 90AMP one wire alternator added. To cool the engine, Flowkooler high flow water pump and reduced diameter pulley installed. New oil pan with new threaded dipstick. New EFI distributor and ford racing spark plug wires. Cast aluminum Canton valve covers added to provide classic clean styling. (VR1 racing oil).
Exhaust:
Jet Hot coated long tube Headman Headers and complete custom exhaust installed (o2 bungs welded in). o2 sensors installed, ready to connect to harness.
EFI Harness/ECM:
Mustang harness rewired/labled for Bronco use...comes with A9P ECM that had capacitors replaced and tested.
Fuel:
Sherman EFI tank with internal pump, hard fuel lines along with braided flexible lines to engine/tank.
Steering:
Frame brace welded, steering box resealed and lower bearing replaced, new tie rods and drag link. Upgraded Delphi power steering pump and new hoses.
Suspension:
2.5 suspension lift with Bilstein shocks. Heavy duty u-bolts and spring plates installed to improve durability.
Tires/Wheels:
New Mickey Thompson 33x12.5x15 tires on Mickey Thompson Classic II 15" wheels.
Misc notes:Fluids added, nuts/bolts torqued down and timing set. This is a top notch build ready to transfer your tub and go. Considerable amount of work completed...needs very little to wire/get running.
