Description

1966 ICONIC AMERICANA MUSCLE CAR SURVIVOR1966 THUNDERBIRD
After hunting high and low for a RUST FREE & BONDO FREE, LASER STRAIGHT 1966 THUNDERBIRD, JETBIR, T-BIRD SURVIVOR, I AM REMISS TO HAVE TO SELL HER. THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT FROM AN ESTATE SALE IN COLORADO FROM A GENTLEMEN WHOM WORKED AT A FORD FACTORY most of his life. He owned this 66 torqiouse/teal over white THUNDERBIRD approximately 40 years. For my 50th birthday, I purchased this Formal Hardtop Coupe (Rarest of all TBIRD models, no rear quarter windows behind driver:very aggressive stance). This car had been a labor of love for this gentlemen whereby it was always kept garage kept in good condition. He was slowly putting it back to 100% of its former glory. I will provide the PDF dissertation that I purchased the car from at the Estate sale.I purchased the car to build my Eclectic Resto-mod. After shipping to my South Florida Townhouse only to find it doesn't fit in the garage of my cookie cutter home. After searching for what to do i must sell the car as it is now sitting outside on my driveway and it has not been outside its entire life in the dry Colorado air. Its not fair to let it get rained on in south Florida with rain and humidity.CAR CRED:The body panels gaps and seams are allsymmetricaland even, The paint and interior are more then fair for a survivor vehicle although door panels are necessary. The dash pad is new. The chrome and glass ion the car are very very good with no picking spidering or fogging of the glass. This car was highly optioned with the 390 ci/315 hp rebuilt as per Estate PDF with oil pressure gauge still on motor (50-60lbs.), as well as the transmission and disc brakes The car has power window, power door lock, power seats, power steering, power disc brakes and an electric antenna to an AM radio(inoperable currently). The chrome on the car is impeccable for a car that has never had the chrome redipped. The seats front and rear and dash console and over head console all in good condition. The seats are in remarkable shape for original especially being white. (No tears rips and the springs haveresilience. The car starts up and runs strong with a Torquey throaty exhaust tone and shifts well although I did not drive it much. The wheels are the original steel rims with hub caps. To me the kicker was the side skirts they make the retro and cool. This car was going to be my Eclectic Restomod. Its so original and unmolested it might be a crime and just leave it as stock and as is. Over all the car is very solid and it was the LASER STRAIGHT RUST FREE BONDO FREE GOOD CHROME that enticed me. PLUS those memories. (For those thinking abt a restomod: EDELBROCK makes a top end kit heads, intake carb cam in conjunction with the stock high compression motor would turn this into a beast. Some killer rims and tires.........Ahhhhhhhh your done :-)50 YEAR OLD SURVIVOR CLASSICLet me state that these pictures are that from the Estate so I wanted to pass it along in that fashion. The engine bay is undetailed and has some 50 year oldpristineitems. The undercarriage rails and truck are solid. A few pieces of Chrome trim are in the trunk either unmounted due to needing different mounting clips or there was a ding in one that he wanted replaced. The paint is more then fair but not perfect and it is done old school style single stage Same with the interior. I will supply additional pictures. please note the straightness of these long large body panels the even spacing of the gaps and seams and the over all feel of the car in that 1966 retro cool color. Of note most Tbirds from 64-66 were quirky in their ignition. The car likes being started in neutral but will start in park if the gear selector is pushed up a bit in park. Onoccasionthe power window switches on the console are sticky but work.Lastly this car was sold on Ebay about 10 weeks ago. to a deadbeat in the UK. After jacking me around and sending me a deposit he finally bailed out because he said shipping was more then he expected. Pls do your homework on shipping prior to bidding and I will help accordingly. Finally, I have applied the deadbeats deposIt to the reserve and lowered it by $500HAPPY BIDDING THIS CAN BE ONE AMAZING RESTO-MOD.OR PRESTINE ANTIQUE SURVIVOR*TRADES ONLY FOR 1967-1969 FIREBIRD. PLS NO RUST NO JUNK
