Description

This 1986 Mustang GT is the absolute best of everything with no expense spared and no corners cut. This is truly one of the best in the country and has been treated to a full high quality expert restoration with less than 3,000 post-restoration miles. The attention to detail on this build is second to none, and the list of modifications and enhancements are a testament to the overall quality of this Mustang.
This car performs incredibly and the list of modifications is extensive:* New GT40 Crate engine* Upper and lower polished intake (lowers typically are not polished)* New World Class T5 transmission* Hurst shifter* King Cobra clutch* Upgraded front and rear suspension* Eibach springs* Autometer C2 LED precision gauges* New tires and wheels* Upgraded brakes* Magnaflow exhaust* High quality repaint in factory correct Oxford White* New Corbeau seats in front* Reupholstered seats in back to match front* New custom stereo system* Front and rear integrated radar detector* Accessory power locks* New Optima battery* HID lights and HID fog lights* Custom hood lift and rear hatch lifts* Interior billet door handles* Bluetooth hands free
The overall condition of the vehicle is very high quality as one would expect. The paint is very high quality with excellent surface prep. The factory correct vinyl graphics are expertly applied with no bubbling or fading. The shut-lines and panel alignment are precise. The doors feel extremely solid when opening and closing. The interior is nearly flawless. Upgraded Corbeau sport seats show minimal use. The upgraded audio system is tastefully done and sounds amazing. The air conditioning blows ice cold. Screen printing on the buttons and switches are all intact. The car drives, handles, and performs far better than when it left the factory.
I am a dealer. This Mustang GT is on consignment from a well respected Mustang collector. My client purchased this Mustang out of a mechanic's lien meaning we did not do the build. The owner who commissioned the build could not pay for the work he had done and the shop who did the build needed to get paid.
FAQs:
Q: What all has been done?A: We listed what we know.
Q: How many horsepower?A: We have not put it on the dyno. The crate engine is rated at 340hp before any additional modifications.
Q: Is it fast?A: Yes.
Q: Any accidents?A: No. Clean CarFax.
Q: Is the mileage accurate?A: No. That is post-restoration mileage.
Q: How many miles on the chassis?A: Approximated 135,000 according to the CarFax. The mileage was reset when restored which is not uncommon.
Q: Would you be willing to trade?A: Depends! What do you have?
Q: Wow, no reserve! What's wrong with it?A: There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and the successful buyer will be immensely pleased. We are firm believes in the "no reserve" format because it has brought us greater success at times than our published website price. That is not always the case, but you win some and lose some. Our successful no reserve auctions include everything from Toyota Yaris' to Supra Turbos and Bentley Continental Flying Spurs. In fact, we have sold two recently for this client out of the same collection, the last being a 1986 Mustang GT with 13,500 original miles. We do not employ "ghost bidders" or questionable tactics to artificially raise the bids. Our sales actually finalize unless the buyer doesn't come through. Check out our 100% positive feedback.
Q: Wasn't this beautiful Mustang on eBay a few months ago at "no reserve?"A: I'm glad you asked. Yes it was. The successful bidder was about to close on his business he was selling and "almost" had the money. Optimal word there being "almost." It never happened. Please do not bid unless you have the funds ready. Before the close of the sale is a good time to ask your husband, wife, girlfriend, parents, parole officer, Miss Cleo, or your Magic 8 Ball before you commit to buy.
Q: Can I buy it at "no reserve" and renegotiate on the price when I come to pick it up?A: No.
Q: Can I come look at it?A: Of course! You are more than welcome to come inspect it or send out a third party inspection service. There is nothing to hide.
Q: I want to buy it but I live in Angle, Minnesota and you are in Texas. Will you knock some off the price because I have to ship it really far away?A: No, but we will help you arrange shipping at your expense. We ship cars weekly and get awesome rates with pretty prompt pickup times because we always have vehicles coming and going. You are welcome to book your own transportation or pick it up in person.
Q: Mechanic's lien? Oh, you must have gotten it for free?A: No, we actually had to pay for it and it wasn't cheap. The build was said to be valued between $30,000 and $40,000. The appraisal shows $23,000 which we will gladly provide.
Q: Wow! Can I give you my opinion on what I think it cost to build it or what I could build it for?A: No. This is what we were told when my client bought it and no receipts were provided. Take it with a grain of salt.
Q: Mechanic's lien? So there isn't a title?A: Yes, there is a clear blue Texas title. Everything was done by the book through the standard legal channels and my client has had it for a few years.
Q: How much would my payments be?A: That would be between you and your bank. We are not a "note lot." We do have a lender who will loan on the car. You will need very good to excellent credit and roughly 10% down. Before the close of the auction would be the time to begin this process if you are unsure of your credit history.
Q: I have a buyer for my rare tricked out caboose once owned by Harry S. Truman with 24k gold walls, whale foreskin seats, and the same floors that are in Trump Tower I am selling. Can we finish the deal when I get the money next week?A: No. Don't bid unless you have the funds ready.
Q: This is exactly what I have been looking for! Can I buy it now?A: You can place a bid through eBay.
Q: This is exactly what I have been looking for! Do you have more photos?A: Yes. On our website which isn't hard to find. We are Fast Lane Direct and located in Texas.
Q: This is exactly what I have been looking for! I saw this Mustang on your website. Will you take half of what you are asking?A: If that is the case, there are plenty of worn out Mustangs out there in your price range. One of those may be a better fit for your budget.
Q: I think you are asking too much. Can I contact you to give you my amateur opinion on what it is worth?
A: No. This is a "no reserve" auction, and we have a professional appraisal. We will accept the high bid through eBay, whatever it may be. We will let the bidding speak for itself on this one.
Q: Can I waste a bunch of your time telling you how I would have done the build and what all I would do to it if I had the money to buy it?A: No, but I can give you the name of the shop in Houston that built it.
