Description

This is a 1968 Mustang Fastback. This car is very original and retains a decent amount of original paint.
Original 83K miles confirmed by the title and oil change sticker on the car!
This car has never been cut up or molested! Still has all the original metal!
How often to do you find that!?
Still has the original dealer sticker on the taillight panel.
The original candyapple red exterior with white C-stripe and parchment interior is a rare and gorgeous combination
that will receive lots of attention and compliments at car shows. This car is nicely
optioned from the factory such as the GT equipment group, 4spd manual transmission
mated to the optional S code 390 GT. Power steering came on the car
but was removed in the past and original 9 inch rear 3.25 axle ratio.
Sport deck fold down rear seat and rare factory head rest! This Mustang
still has the factory AM 8 track stereo which works!
Some history about the car.
This Mustang was sold new in Wyoming. It still has the registration sticker on the front glass from 1977/1978
in Wyoming. The original owners kept the Mustang garaged except when they were driving it on sunny
weekends or taking it to the occasional trip down the drag strip. The car was sold sometime in the 90s
and that couple moved to Arizona with the Mustang. About 6 months ago that couple had major renovations
done on their house and unfortunately for them had to use the Mustang as payment for the project
that went over budget. I purchase the Mustang from the contractor who didn't have a desire to
keep the Mustang and need to cash it out for other purchases. The Mustang has had approximately
1500 miles put on it over the last 30 years evident by the 1985 oil change sticker under the hood!
Body: The car is 100% rust free. All of the body panels line up perfect and are original.
The drivers front fender and roof have been repainted. The whole car shines very nice and
looks great. The car is almost 50 years old and does have a few small dings and scratches
since the car does retain some original paint. There are no signs of accident or any salvage
history. The chrome and trim is in good shape thought the rear bumper could use to be replaced
to make it perfect. Glass is in good shape. The front windshield does have a stone mark in it.
Pictures show just how clean and original this Mustang is. The front floor supports and torque boxes
seem to have been painted for protection at some point. I can't find any trace of them very being
replaced. Under the carpet is the factory underlayment and sound proofing and no signs of any non
factory welds. Body buck tag attached to radiator support.
Interior: The interior is original except the seat bottom of the drivers seat which has recently be redone.
factory 6K tach works well. Carpet is in very nice shape for it being original.
The dash is original and in great condition along with the door panels. The
headliner is in good shape. All the fiberglass interior panels are in nice shape and the fold down
seat as well.
Engine: The factory engine has 83K miles on it. It does have a slight oil leak when it sits for a few days.
The factory exhaust manifolds have been replaced with headers with 2.25in flowmaster exhaust.
The car pulls really strong and sounds the part. C7ME-A engine casting code with date code 8B9 which is about 2 weeks before the car was built.
Correct S code 1968 C8AE intake. Aftermarket Holley carb.
Transmission: The clutch shifts well and the shifter has been upgraded to a Hurst competition unit.
Correct factory RUG AD trans.
Suspension, steering and brakes: the car is all stock OEM with no modifications on this and the car steers, stops and rides like it should.
The factory power steering has been removed and it has factory power disc brakes.
Wheels and tires: Original steel styled 68 GT wheels with brand new Cooper Cobra
white letter tires. The factory spare tire is still in the trunk.
This car is turn key read to enjoy. A classic car that will only increase in value. There are no
surprises with this car. Currently the rear view mirror is being replaced. The fog light switch
has been removed in the past and I think the lights hard wired.
This should go without saying but I have had people win an auction in the past only to flake out.
Please, if you need to ask permission from your wife, dog, mother, partner, pet rock etc..please do
so before making an offer! Treat people the way you'd like to be treated and I will do the same.
This is a solid investment in an all original, numbers matching 4 speed Big Block GT with great options and colors!
