Description

1976 Ford Pinto MPG wagon. It has always been in Southern California. 91,676 original miles. The car is in fair to good shape. I have not been driving it for the last year and a half and the registration is behind. The car starts up runs and drives, does not smoke, and the last time I smogged it, it passed withoutany issues. There is however some slight knocking that I believe is coming from the lower end of the motor when under stress. I can't say exactly where the source is, but I would guess a rod bearing is starting to go. The interior is ok to nice. Headliner is perfect, original dash is not cracked, overall the interior panels are in good shape. The carpet has normal wear for being 41 years old, and the seats have tears/ cracks, especially the front driver's seat. I keep covers on the front seats and they go with the car. The car was garage kept until a couple of years ago, when I got it. I didn't have the garage space, but usually kept it covered up. The exterior has the original paint, which is especially thin on the roof and hood. I keep it waxed to keep surface rust from building up little spots. The engine is a 2.3 , and the transmission is a 4 speed. the car drives straight, never been wrecked. Chrome bumpers are in really nice shape. All lights, turn signals, gauges, horn, seatbelts, and radio (AM/FM/8 track) work. The car does not have AC. The wagon has remote sport mirrors and factory four spoke rims with center caps and beauty rings. The tires are in fair shape and are 175 70 R13's. I do however have another set of 4 Pinto rims with multi-spoke hubcaps and really nice 185 80 R13 tires that I will include with the car. The 185 80's are hard to find. I also have a spare 1976 Pinto grill that I will include with the car ( in case your neighbor backs up into yours... happened to me once).
* I also have a 1973 Pinto hatchback for sale that runs, drives, and is registered as well ( ask me for details if you are interested).
Since the registration is behind and the full long term condition of the motor is in question, I will have a very low reserve on this Pinto. I can assist with any shipping and can recommend a reputable, reasonable auto carrier that I have used in the past. Happy Bidding.
