Description

******RELISTING after Ebay bidder flyplanes5 from Ohio was a no-pay. People PLEASE PLEASE check with your wife and your banker before bidding**********For sale:1971 Ford F250 4x4 Sport Custom true original survivor, sold new and lived in the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus of the Montana high desert. ONE owner from November 1970 to 2016, I purchased from the original owner, who ordered it at Davey Motors in Columbus, MT. Truck was very well cared for and maintained and runs and drives well. Warn-Bellview 6000 (later renamed Warn 8000) winch was installed when new and works great. Needs very little to use as is, enjoy and improve it as you go or restore. Still has the original owners manual and original jack, handle and lug wrench. Marti report included. Very hard to find original high boy trucks in this condition. I'm an engineer by vocation, and a collector of vintage 4x4s. Unlike Jay Leno, I have to sell a few from time to time. This is one of those times. Please see linked Photobucket album below for more detail pics, including underside.
Exterior: Original Diamond Blue paint looks still shines and looks good enough to draw compliments and offers at the gas station. NO RUST other than minor surface, most notably on box floor. In this area, we only get 10" of annual moisture per year, and sand, not salt, is used on the roads.
Underside looks great with cab mounts, dropoffs, and floors all in good condition. Dent low in driver door as shown, door closes perfectly. Small dings and scratches from use, coulple dings on back of hood, top of roof, and passenger side front valance, all shown in pics. Windshield is cracked. Winch is a bolt-on unit and could be easily removed if desired. Grille inserts have a couple of holes as shown for a factory brush guard, which was on the truck for a time and removed. It will be included with the truck. See link to Photobucket for more pics including underside.

Interior: All original survivor condition and looks great. Original seat, door panels, headliner, and floor mat in very good condition. Usual cracks in dashpad around radio speaker. Tight and nice and doors close like a bank vault. As far as I can tell most everything works, gauges, lights, radio, heater, wipers, etc. Really in amazing condition for a 46 year old truck.
Mechanical: Original 360 4 speed drivetrain in good working order. Starts, runs, and drives out great. No smoke, major leaks, noises, or issues.
Solid, tight feel and a way-back machine to simpler times, when a truck was a truck. Trans shifts well, stops ok but not as well as some of my other highboys, so might need some attention there. There is a slight exhaust leak at the passenger side donut when cold. Tires are 7.50-16 bias ply on original lock-ring wheels. Decent tread but they are old so plan on replacing. If you don't like split rims, I can remove and install a set of white spoke rims with usable 10 ply LT235/75 16 radials instead.

Pricing/Misc: If you've been searching for a nice original Highboy, you already know that prices are going crazy. Two nice 1970s F250 4x4's recently sold for $23k and $26k right here on Ebay, check completed "sold" auctions for details. I see a lot of fluffed-up rust buckets being passed off as original survivors. This truck is the real deal, and there is NO RESERVE, truck will sell.

****Shipping will be from Helena, MT. I-15 and I-90 both very near, transport is reasonable. Zip code for shipping quote use 59601*****
This rig runs and drives fine, but flying in and driving it long distance isn't a good option. Montana is a huge state and it's a long way between towns. In many areas there are few services and poor cell service. Truck transport for this rig isreadily available, and probably cheaper than fixing rust on an eastern tetanus truck. Montana title isclear and in my name with no liens, signed off and notarized ready for you to fill in your name as purchaser .After the sale, I can store the truck for up to 30 days free, after that $100 per month storage will be due. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as car is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time.
