1932 Ford Phaeton originally from Australia. The Phaeton spent many years in a museum before the prior owners bought it 25 + years ago. They drove it rarely and it mainly remained in storage. About 4 years ago they started a mechanical restoration including a new motor and rebuilt chassis. The body was put in primer a year ago.
The body is in overall good condition. It is an Australian import so it does have more wood than U.S. manufactured body. The wood is solid and the sheet metal is straight. It is obvious that the car was inside most of its life. The pan under the rear seat has been replaced and there is some damage at the lower rear of the left wheel well. The hood, grill shell and insert are all original.
The engine is a rebuilt 1936 Ford LB with a NOS crank and NOS cast iron heads. It has a new fuel pump, new Stromberg Carburetor, new 6V alternator, new battery and a restored 1932 air cleaner with a hidden K&N filter. The car was completely rewired using a new original style harnesses and has a new electric fuel pump in addition to the mechanical pump. It starts quickly and runs great.
The chassis is original 32 Ford with a very nice dropped 33-36 axle with rebuilt 1939 hydraulic brakes. The transmission and rear end have both been rebuilt. The original tank was completely flushed and sealed and the fuel lines are new. It has a new Brassworks radiator. The wheels are Early Ford 16x4” and 16x4-1/2” with new Firestone 4.50 and 7.50 tires.
The interior is older but in good condition with carpet, door panels and kick panels. Included with the Phaeton is the original top with nice bows that open and close freely. The top material will need to be replaced.
The car comes with a current and correct Tennessee title. Always interested in Early Ford cars, projects, bodies and parts. Please call 865-755-7019 with any questions.
