1962 FORD FALCON FUTURA CUSTOM BUILT SLEEPER
Description
This car is unique it is a 1962 Ford Falcon Futura, this car is been build from the ground up. First we build a chassis out of two by four tubing. The car has a Chris Alston's ladder bar system fully adjustable with Afco coil over shocks. The motor 2003 4.6 DOHC with Whipple Crusher 3.2L supercharger with 1000cc injectors. I also install detail zone wire loom with stock computer with SCT programmer. This motor is freshly rebuilt it has two dyno pass and and three quarter passes on it. The heads are ported and polish to the max and they have new valve and springs. New piston, timing chain and guides, rod resided and balanced and polished crank. The transmission is a four speed manual Gforce 101 clutch-less with a long shifter. This car has a mustang 2 front end with Afco coil over shocks. The car is tune by Addiction Motorsport owner Eddie, and this guy is amazing. The headers are custom build with 2 1/8 primary tubes going to a full 3inch exhaust system all the way to the rear of car. The rims are chrome 15x6 front and 15x10 on the rear the front tires are 195-75-15r and the rears 28-10.5-15r drag slicks and I also have a set street tires with rims. The fuel pump is a Weldon high pressure with 3/4 inch fuel line to the pump with 5/8 to the motor with 3/8 return line to a 15 gallon Jaz fuel tank. The ice bath water tank for the supercharger is a Jaz 10 gallon with a Jabsco water puppy water pump. It has a Odyssey battery dry cell 14 volt. This car has really nice adjustable racing seats with Jaz seat belts. This car has all original stainless steel trim and emblems. The only thing missing is the letters on the back that say FUTURA. The gas cap is the battery on/off switch which i did to make it just a little unique. The clutch is by Mcleod dual disc clutch with aluminum flywheel with a quick time bellhousing with line lock system. The car has front power disc brakes with rear drum brakes, the brakes are hydra boost system not vacuum system because of the supercharger. The steering is power rack and pinion. When i build this car as a sleeper so all the window and doors work and are stock. The dash is stock with the stock radio glove box cover, ash tray and lighter, and i add the tach and oil pressure gauge and temperature to the instrument cluster. Everything else was left to look stock. When I put the cage in i put all the bars behind the posts except the two rear down bars. The car has carpet, headliner, and all the door and quarter panels with rear window tray. All window are glass, bumpers are steel, all body panels are steel. The cage is certified for 8:50 it was done last Friday. The rear end is a Ford nine inch with strange center section with 4:11 geas with spool and the axle are Moser. The taillights are off a 1965 ford galaxy and all the lights work(brakes light, running lights, and headlights). This car was build as a sleeper and this car is always a crowd pleaser. This car ran 9:48 @138 we had to let out of the car due to track restrictions. The track shut us down because we went to fast for not being certified but had the car certified since, now the car should run in the 8's. This car has only ran at Bakersfield drag strip where we run the Red List racing events. This car was also videoed by Hot Rod Magazine and post on there web site with the caption "what's your guess on what this falcon runs? Was your guess in the 9's", and that was with the old engine. This car leaves straight and goes down the track straight. I have a videos if you want to see them. This car runs on e85 fuel only.
