Description

THIS IS A "NICE" RUNNING LEATHER-BACK!I BOUGHT THIS "IOWA" CAR BACK IN 2000.HERE IS WHAT I HAVE DONE TO IT:New tires & tubes, fixed (welded) spoke rims where needed then Powder Coated. Hub caps are new SS. Bought original type brake lining and installed properly, replaced wheel seals. Replaced front and rear leaf springs and bought new (original style) shocks and links-installed. Front bumper is chrome, rear bumper is new-SS. I have replaced the water pump with new_SS. The car always runs cool! The heater unit over manifold is fairly new. Naturally, I replaced the regular stuff; points, plugs, condenser and points cam (SS) along with the fuel filter and distributor top. Oil change was done this past summer. Windshield wiper works (slow but sure), lines from intake manifold to wiper are new. Speedo works, odometer does not. Lights front & back, high & low beam, brake and inside work fine. No problems with engine or transmission. Car starts easy & stops great. I have stripped "down to the metal" the four fenders and that part between the running boards and bottom of where the doors are. Top of hood & top in front of window & down on the sides where body meets. I took out as many little dents as I could; sanded, primmer and painted. Interior headliner, door panels and seats are vinyl (spray painted with interior spray paint to Tan) original color is a dark red/black color. Front floor mat is new, wood underneath is old, but good and back floor is solid. All glass is there and good. The horn works fine!
I am out of time and money and must sell this Great little car. If I were to keep it, here is what I would do: replace the wood header over the windshield and the wood over the driver side doors, the wood has rotted. As you can see in the pics, the leather (vinyl) top needs to be replaced. The body i, what I can tell, original paint and needs to be stripped down.
If I were the one buying this Model A, I would just leave it alone for awhile and go out and drive the heck out of it like it is and enjoy it for a time. My wife and I love it, she is sad to see it go.
