Description 1930 Ford Model A Pickup
Located near PORTLAND, OREGON.
OFFERED AT NO RESERVE. HIGH BIDDER WILL OWN IT.
This 1930 Ford was purchased in the 1970's by the previous owner. During first years of his ownership it was restored as needed for use around town. This included replacing the rear fenders with Wescott fiberglass fenders. The interior was reupholstered in black vinyl and appears stock. The wood in the bed was replaced with oak. Headlights converted to 6 volt sealed beams. Electric windshield wiper added. Engine work was done to make it run well. It was used some, but the owner had many other Model A's and T's in his collection to work on, so this '30 mostly sat in the barn over the next 40 years. With the passing of the previous owner last year at age 94, this 1930 Model A Pickup is now available.
It was recently removed from the barn then washed, cleaned, and all systems checked. The distributor and carburetor were freshly rebuilt by The Model A Ford Works in Portland. A new 6 volt battery was installed, the radiator filled, the fuel system was flushed. Tank cleaned, petcock, fuel filter and sediment bowl replaced. When filled with fresh gas the truck fired off immediately. It runs smoothly. PLEASE SEE VIDEO. We replaced all 5 of the old tires with new, correct Firestones, including new tubes, flaps and hubcaps. (Total of over $1,200 spent for tires alone.) New corrrect rubber floor mat. New MotoMeter radiator cap. I have personally driven this truck and it runs, shifts and stops well. However, we would recommend having all systems checked and serviced by a competent Model A mechanic prior to extended use.
The body appears straight and solid. Black paint is old with wear and chipping noted. Great patina and a testament to its use over the years. Light switch needs attention. Gauges register with the exception of the speedometer. Top is good with no leaks or tears. The undercarriage is clean and solid. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS. A box of extra new parts is included. Overall, it is in very good condition and would be a straight-forward restoration project; or just go through the mechanicals and drive it as it is. Either way, it will generate smiles wherever it goes.
We have decided to let the bidders determine the selling price by offering this truck at NO RESERVE. High bidder will own it.
