Description

1965 Ford Thunderbird - Barn Find, True Survivor!
Found in a barn in Altus, Oklahoma in a collection that had been sitting for 17 years.we bought four, and this is by far the best of the group. This T-bird boasts the original Wimbledon White paint and Silver Blue interior. We bought it to restore, but found that it was truly in incredible condition. After a little effort on the motor, she started right up and hasn't stopped since! Unfortunately after 17 years of sitting, it did require some love. We only used OEM replacement parts and went through the entire car. Here is a partial list of parts or repairs:
  • Rebuilt power steering pump, replaced hoses, & idler arm
  • Replaced door jam switches
  • Rebuilt carburetor
  • Replaced neutral safety switch
  • Rebuilt power steering gear box
  • Replaced fuel sender unit & harness
  • Replaced fuel fill pipe & o-ring, and gas tank
  • Replaced instrument voltage regulator
  • Rebuilt brake booster, check valve, brake hoses, & master cylinder
  • New spark plugs, fuel pump, starter, ignition wire set, & battery
  • New ball joints, stabilizer links, control arm bushings
  • New window motor kit
  • New wheel cylinders
This T-bird runs and drives like a dream, and stops on a dime. I regularly drive it to OKC from Tulsa (about 110 miles) without issue. All gauges work except for the clock. The heater works great and the A/C blows, but has not been recharged or converted. The slide away steering wheel is a treat. Radio works but the antennae is missing so no stations come in. All in all, this is a beauty. The paint isn't perfect, but it's close. And everything is there. More pictures are available upon request. This is a complete car that only comes along once in awhile. Don't miss out on your chance to own an original piece of history!
