Description

You are looking at one of the most reliable and built proof trucks Ford ever made. This 1987 F-250 4x4 club cab was ordered as the last truck the original owner was ever going to own. Totally set up as the ultimate tow vehicle at the time, he spared no expenses on the options. He started out first with the 6.9 International diesel engine and then backed it with the heavy duty C6 automatic transmission. Next was the 8800 lb. GVW towing capacity spring package. The camper option was front and rear sway bars and the increased capacity cooling, HD brake system and 4.10 to 1 gear ratio. For comfort, he optioned for the XLT trim package which consisted of, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Cruise Control, Sliding rear Window, Deluxe Cloth Seat, Tilt Steering Colum, Delay Wipers, and Carpet. He also added an Electric Trailer Brake Controller and a Warn Winch. The nice thing about this truck being an 87 is that Ford had finally figured out the week spots in the 6.9 diesel and dialed in the cold start system. All of the Ford line mechanics that I’ve talked to always say, this is the best year for the early non turbo IDI Fords. The cold start system on this truck works perfectly. It likes being plugged in, but doesn’t need to. It always starts in the coldest of weather and the fast idle engages and remains on until the engine reaches 110 degrees and then drops down to a 750 rpm idle. When I took ownership of the truck, upon going through the previous repair receipts, There was a receipt for a complete engine rebuild along with a Dyno sheet. The engine was replaced when the truck had only 6000 miles on the odometer and was under full warranty from Ford. The engine still to this day does not leek any oil anywhere! The engine has roughly 63k on it and performs great. I have done some things to the truck to bring it up to top notch performance and appearance. Here’s that list of repairs.

Complete repaint back to the original Desert Tan color

Full tune up and replacement of all fluids

New set of glow plugs

New high flow aluminum radiator

New belts and hoses

New heater core

Fuel return hose and injector caps replacement kit

New carpet kit and small seat seam repair

New tires including spare

Complete four wheel alignment

Complete new 3” exhaust system ( Kept the old tail pipe for the stock look )

New Power window motors

New Kenwood blue tooth radio and speakers

New Facet electric lift pump

New batteries

New A/Ccompressor clutch and recharge (A/C and heat work great)

I’m sure I’ve missed a few repairs I’ve made to add to the list but, overall it’s very road worthy and a pleasure to drive. There are a few knick knack items that could stand to be addressed, but nothing major. The original owner added an extra front leaf spring on each side to bring the front end up when he installed the winch and bumper. The winch is a Warn 8274 with the remote controller and yes it works like a champ. I have been driving the truck as a daily driver over the last year for work and pleasure. The truck just does what you want it to do day after day. If you’ve always wanted a diesel but don’t like the idea of going into debt for 50,000.00+ dollars and 8 years, or don’t like the idea of taking the chance on one with 300k miles, this is a great place to start. This truck will give you years of great service. I haven’t found anything that it won’t haul or tow. You can bid with confidence, this truly is a very nice truck and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.

Now for the rules for my auction. Winner of this auction must pay for truck in full no later than 72 hrs. 3 days after auctions end. Buyer will pay for truck via bank to bank transfer only.
