Description

I am selling my 1988 Ford Ranger XLT. It has the 2.9L V6 engine with a manual transmission. I got it in 2015, and immediately replaced the valve covers (they were leaking), and did a tune up. Replaced the front brakes and rotors, and had the back brakes serviced. The owner before me, put in an air conditioner (works great), and painted the body, and put a utility rack on it.
The truck starts every time, and runs great. It does run a little rich, and I haven't been able to put my finger on as to why. I have replaced the engine coolant temp sensor, and also had my mechanic find and fix a vacuum leak. The truck running rich hasn't bothered me that much. It works a little hard on a warm start, and then is a bit smelly. But the cold starts are great! Fires right up.
4wd works, along with the manual locking hubs. Duel fuel tanks are great, toggle switch to the right of the steering wheel is in working order. Rear tank is about 10 gallons, and the front tank I want to say is around 12-14. I get around 350 miles with both tanks driving around the city. Highway is better, but can't remember exactly.
It has a towing hitch with wiring for trailer lights. I have pulled a tear drop camper with it, and it did fine, but haven't pulled anything real heavy. The wiring for the trailer lights are a bit touchy. They work, but there must be a short in there somewhere because sometimes they don't work, but with a little shake they will work again. I haven't investigated this much beyond that. Electrical in the truck works fine.
Ceiling cloth is there, but sagging (see pic). Front grille has a piece missing (see pic). A few small rust spots by the wheel wells, I included a pic of the biggest one. Both rear jump seats work., the passenger side one doesn't close as well as the driver side (see pic). The black trim around the front windshield is peeling (see pic). Small dent behind the exhaust (see pic). Other than that the body is straight, and good looking. Very small oil leak. Started after the last oil change. Filter might need an extra turn. The only other thing wrong with it, that I can think of is the passenger inside door handle is broken. Still there, and still works but one of the screws is missing so it lifts a little bit when you pull on it.
For the past 3 years I have not had any major issues with this truck. I have driven it all over Idaho, and it has proved to be very trust worthy. Please message me if you have any questions. Thank you.
