Background:
The time has come for my family to sell my late Father's original48 Mercury Convertible. 48 Mercury Block has ARDUN OHV conversion installed when built by my late Father and Late Grandfather in 1970-71.Car has always been stored in our families pole barn. It has won James Dean Top 20 Mercury on many occasions, as well as other awards.
Condition:
Engine - Original Ardun in good running condition. It does smoke, but from what I understand, that is how the Judson Supercharger is designed. Holds great oil pressure. Marvel Mystery Oiler on the firewall used to oil the supercharger.
Paint - The car was last painted around 1981. As such, the body has some paint chips. Overall in very good shape for 36 year old paint job. Crack on pass door from a small child who opened his father's car door into mine at car show many years ago - How can you be mad at a 5 year old child? - I was once that 5 year old child going with his dad to car shows - It happens :-)
Interior & Other - In good shape. Rubber matt on floor has some damage. Convertible top has a single small hole. Does need brake work (new master cylinder, wheel cylinders and flexible lines are presently on order) and also new tires to be streetable at highway speeds - Current bias ply tires do have weather cracking.
Body - I know of no patch panels on this car. It is 'All Henry' steel.
