Description

1979 Ford F 350 4x4 Super Cab Short Wide Bed.

I took a nice F150 super cab 2wd, a regular cab F350 4x4 and put them together. Here is the deal:
Stripped the body off the 4x4, steam cleaned the frame, painted it and prepped it for the body. Had a professional machine shop lengthen the frame about 5-6”to match the SC wheel base. Used a piece of same year frame for the splice.I have a picture of the frame where it was welded, looks like it never was touched.
Cleaned the body, inside and out. Body was disassembled and reinstalled. Fit back on is excellent.
Running gear: 4:10 gears, Dana 60 up front ( disk brakes high pinion ), GM 14 Bolt in rear. 4" Skyjack lift with shocks and brake cables. 3" body lift. Everything attached to the frame was painted with Por 15, then painted with Por 15 chassis coat and hard nose paint. Rear drive line was made new to fit perfectly.
Body: Exterior has had one repaint. It is very shinny and looks good. Closer inspection you will find rock chips, dings, and one small dent in the lower bed. This a very nice looking driver, with the option of getting body work done and a repaint in the future.Only one small area on the drivers door that is showing some rust.Bed has surface rust, and not all dented or beat up.I did not have it lined, as long term plans was to get the body repainted first.
Interior: 100% Original interior except the radio ( no good radio, but I put nice speakers in the door panels to replace the factory speakers. Interior is clean ( even original floor mat is decent ). Back bench seat is excellent. Front seat has just been recovered with NOS factory material.Dash is nice and clean, no hacking. Headliner is excellent. Padded dash has a crack, but I have a great replacement that goes with. All glass is good, with a new windshield added recently. Gauges work as they should.
Engine: 400 that has a Lunati cam ( do not know the specs, fixes the timing retard problem on these engines ). I pulled it from another truck, and the cylinders still had the hone marks, so it was ready to do. I put a rebuilt set of heads on it, a Edelbrock performer alum manifold and Edelbrock 4 bbl carb that I rebuilt. Has headers and new dual exhaust to a single muffler.Sounds great. I replaced all the gaskets, as well as added a high output oil pump. Runs excellent, starts immediately, runs strong, no knocks or smoke or leaks.Everything was painted with engine paint. Clean and nice. Engine compartment has been cleaned and painted and looks great. High capacity radiator-never overheating.
Transmission is a C6, and has a high capacity alum pan. Shifts good, no issues. Transfer case is a NP205.
Tires are Dick Cepek Fun Country radials, 38 x 15.5 x 16.5, run down the road great and balance out well. Wheels are American Racing Outlaw alum wheels. Very nice shape, not pealing or problems.Old school look.
I few things I did not get to: roll up windows need new rubber channels, transfer case rattles on deceleration, some of the bed mounts are not completed ( I have 4 done, not going anywhere ).There is a slight battery discharge, so I have a disconnect.Transmission front seal is leaking, I think I must have damaged it when installing.Front gas tank is all hooked up, but the switch at the rear of the frame that switches between the tanks is not working, so I have only one tank functioning.

Overall, a very nice looking truck, that everyone acknowledges.I am moving, and need to sell, otherwise you would not be reading this.It is in great shape, nice, but it is almost 40 years old, so do not expect a show truck.Truck is as shown and described, and contact me with any questions.

Truck is sold as is, where is, as described with a clean Washington State Title for a 1979 F150.
