Description

1977 F-150 Ranger XLT429 Cubic Inch Big BlockHeavy Duty C6 Automatic TransmissionUpgraded Heavy Duty F250 AxlesPower Front Disc BrakesPower SteeringBrand New 34" Toyo AT II TiresBrand New 'Rock Crusher' WheelsThis '77 is a great looking example of the breed. With the perfect ride height it sits at that 'Goldilocks' 4x4 height of not too tall and not too low. The trim is bright and the paint shines beautifully. While this is a gorgeous truck it does have imperfections that make it a no-guilt driver. Nothing is more unnerving than hearing stones from your tires hitting an $8k paint job. Think of this truck like a pair of your favorite jeans. It looks good enough for a night out but can still get dirty getting the job done without feeling bad.The paint looks good on this one and the panels line up well. The paint is older and does have some imperfections from use such as stone chips, scratches, etc. It looks great from 10 feet but get closer and you will begin to see the signs of use. The panels are in good condition and very solid. The only rust known on this one is in the rear corner of the drivers door. The cab corners look great with visible spot welds and no tell tale bubbling. This is the Ranger so it has the up-scale interior. The panels have the deluxe trim. The seat does show wear from use but is still quite serviceable. The carpet is the factory deep pile (shag) that you would find in the Lincolns. Again, like the seats the carpet shows some wear but is still quite serviceable. Take a good look at the window seals, Ford actually color matched the rubber seals to match the interior colors. The 429 under the hood is obviously an upgrade from the stock anemic Midland engine that the truck came factory with. The current 429 is a high compression unit with a reported 5k miles on the clock. It has been upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and matching 600cfm carburetor. The 1969 429 was rated at 360 Horsepower and 480 pound/feet of torque stock. This F150 was upgraded with the heavier frame and running gear from an F250 so it has the heavier duty axles with the 8 lug pattern. A frame mounted hitch is rated to haul up to 6,000lbs standard or with the weight distributing hitch up to 10,000lbs and the truck is wired for trailer brakes so if you want to use it to tow or haul, this F150 can work like its bigger 3/4 ton brother.Air Conditioning was an original option on this truck. The compressor has been removed but the under-dash components appear to be in-tact. Several companies (like Vintage Air) offer under-hood kits. The tires & wheels are brand new and really fit nicely. The tires are 34" Toyo AT II's mounted on Allied Rock Crusher wheels. For Transportation we recommend Mike's Discount Auto Transport. They offer the best customer service and pricing in the industry.Call them for a quote at (888) 671-9285
