Description

Listing this for a friend and client of mine, all mechanical descriptions testified to by myself. I am a tractor and implement mechanic by trade, and personally performed all the recent repairs myself. Quite a rare specimen for restoration, approximately 3 months ago I performed the following repairs in response to my clients' two complaints: It doesn't run, and if it did, you couldn't stop it (brake failure when parked some time before). 31,560 original miles, factory 302 V8, 3 on the tree manual transmission, 4wd, No P/S, No P/B. Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, engine oil and filter, thermostat, coolant, hoses, belt, rebuilt carburetor, new distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, new air filter, new master cylinder, all 4 new wheel cylinders, replaced worn/broken brake hardware, packed front wheel bearings.. One of the front wheel bearings had contamination, but the owner opted not to replace(this truck has spent most of it's life on 2 different rural properties, idling in 1st gear toating bales of hay, etc around). The other known defect is a spun ring on the harmonic balancer (which owner also opted not to repair at that time). I was unable to set the timing with a light, did it by ear. Front bumper missing. Tailgate rusted out. Also considerable rust drivers side door post below striker (see photos). Main electrical systems seem to be functioning, but some lights not working/missing. Engine sounds and runs good. While actual mileage cannot be proven, the fact that I had to learn what factory swaged brake drums were/are, how to remove them, and seeing the original 1972 brake shoes and drums in very good shape leads me to believe the mileage is without a doubt, genuine. This is a New Mexico truck, so you have your pockets of rust, but the rest of the vehicle is relatively rust free. It's never seen a salty road. Makes all the difference in the world when you have to turn wrenches on it. No warranty, expressed or implied, this is a 47 year old vehicle. Tires are/were holding air, but with their age, freeway driving is definitely not recommended. These are getting harder and harder to find, get this one while the gettings good! $500 deposit with Paypal required within 24 hours of auction close.
