Description

I've been road racing 3, 65-66 Mustangs for over 20 years. They have all been number 77, with the first being the "white" car, 2nd being the "Black" car and last the car offered here, being "Red". This car was bought as a shell, stripped with a complete pictorial of each stage of its construction. Interestingly I initially built this car (#371) to return to the 2009 Lecarrera Panamerica road race in Mexico. We had run 3 mustangs in 2008, (my white original race car)and 2 others with the Gary Jones Motorsports team, and even though we won 3rd in class, we suffered a serious accident, as you will see in the first YouTube video, you will also see how the red car evolved starting as a coupe(at about 4:30 mins into the video), then as a "light weight" convertible, until we converted the car finally into a fastback. I have included a couple of pics from early days as a coupe/ convertible. Below is just a brief list of the tracks I ran this car, and a few of the more standout results. Actually the Savannah Race Engineering built dry sump motor has only been run at 1 race, the 2017 Pittsburgh Grand Prix. At 618HP, it is about 35HP up from our previous version, and should be only great going forward. The Dyno sheet bears it out, fantastic torque from 4500-7500, as well steady horsepower growth right into the sweet spot of 5500-7500RPM. The rest of drivetrain Quartermaster 3disc clutch, Jerico road race trans, 4:10 TSD locker all fresh. The brakes Rotors etc all recently replaced, as well Penske adjustable shocks were serviced the end of previous race year. This car is ready to go and will do extremely well in the right hands. With KRC power steering etc., it is a very easy car to drive, is safe/strong, and easy to maintain trackside. The rear is a full 9 inch floater rear end and the front suspension is designed with all the lates, while still maintaining the vintage rules in mind.

I sell this car with great reluctance, as I know I can't build another like it, both for time or for the money, but Health issues dictate its time to stop racing for me. Plenty of spares, repair parts, extra gear set, 3 sets wheels and tires, cool shirt/helmet blower system, logbook, etc., all are included with the car. Many more extras are available for an additional price to include a complete backup drivetrain, body parts, even a stacker trailer, golf cart, and Beaver RV that I also have for sale. I have everything the average guy needs to go road racing and can help with setting up a future trackside support, if buyer needs any assistance with same. Last pic is the car, in storage in my warehouse, on jacks, I'll need a couple days to restore the car from its current storage state.
