Description

This 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner is a classic custom cruiser with a big V8, four-on-the-floor, and plenty of old-school flair... and all offered at quite a nice price. Ford had fun with the Galaxie 500's design in the early '60s. The intricate grille, afterburner taillights, and full-length trim that seamlessly wrapped around the front end â€" it all made this a standout. Overall, the low, wide, and sleek look really captured the era and made it timelessly... cool. So it's great to see this is in such an original form â€" right down to details like the wheel covers. One of the areas that was improved was a more recent respray. The blue doesn't look out of place on this classic, but it does give it a fresher luster that's perfect for a sunshine-friendly droptop. While the white top looks great against the blue paint, when you take the roof town, the blue interior really gives this car a great coordinated look inside and out. Also, you can tell they invested nicely in newer capering, door panels, and seat covers. The way these tones of blue are accented by white even make it all look like an ocean wave. So this is the kind of convertible you'll happily cruise around all day long. And thanks to the Galaxie's size, there's plenty of room to comfortably carry family and friends. Pop the hood and you'll see the callouts on the fenders were not lying. The big 390 cubic-inch V8 fills the engine bay with big blue oval muscle. This is a Z-code car, so the displacement is quite correct for this one. And it looks correct, right down to the golden Thunderbird valve covers, so this is believed to be the original motor. With a four-barrel carburetor, the V8 really lets this Galaxie Sunliner run the boulevard effortlessly. Even the dual exhaust makes a powerful sound without losing this car's cruising attitude. But any time you want to really let that big motor growl, the four-speed manual is a rarely-seen feature that really lets you enjoy this Ford to the fullest. Large, interesting, and a heck of a price â€" this is the classic Ford that delivers a unique classic car experience. Don't miss out, call today!
