1968 Camper Special Pickup Truck
Description
I got this truck on a farm in California. The previous owner had passed away and it had been sitting for a long time. It is rust free with original paint. I spent a month fixing it before driving it back up the coast to Canada in 2015. During that time I did the rear brakes, replaced the cab gas tank and cleaned the auxiliary tank so both work, replaced the air cleaner, alternator, starter, water pump, master cylinder, coil, thermostat, head lamps, hoses, voltage regulator, fixed the fan shroud, got the radiator repaired, put new gaskets on the transmission pan, a new filter in the transmission, new sending units, wheel bearings and drained and refilled the diff. After inspection I had to fix some suspension, e-brake, windshield wipers/pump, nozzles, horn, tires, an inner tie rod arm and trailing arm bushings. Two years ago I did the front disc brakes and painted the valve covers. Last year I replaced the spark plugs, leads, cap, rotar, points and brake booster. The odometer read just under 15,000 miles when I got the truck and the pedals show very little wear so I'm not sure if it only has that many or it's gone over. I have driven the truck up the coast and to YellowStone, through Utah and Nevada and it's been great. It comes with the canopy pictured with the hunter and the grouse on the side and another 352.
Issues: There is some play in the bolts that hold the calipers to the spindles on the front disc brakes. The tires need to be replaced. The carburetor could use a rebuild. There is a small leak in the bottom of the radiator from a repair. The starter turns slowly when it is hot. The hazard lights don't work. There was no radio in it when I got it...
