First time available out of the Mike Patak Galaxie and Shelby collection. This 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL was bought new at Birkett Williams Ford in Cleveland Ohio. Owned by the one and original owner until 6/12/12. It was originally optioned as a Galaxie 500 XL, Ragoon Red, 352 4V, Cruisomatic Tans, Vinyl Roof, Power Steering, Padded dash and visors and visibiliy group. Shortly after we acquired the car we installed a correct 427/425 HP fully documented engine was specifically built for this car and installed. Precise care was used to ensure that this car replicates a factory 427 right down to every detail. All engine paperwork and casting numbers were documented and can be viewed in the pictures. You can't tell this car from a factory 427.This Galaxie has just 19,857 actual miles. The actual miles are stated on the title. This car comes with numerous documents including original window sticker, original dealer invoice, original title, letters from original owner to Ford on warranty work, build sheet, receipts for maintenance throughout the years, car payment receipts, original loan documentation, and several other items. This car still wears its original Rangoon Red paint with black vinyl top and black bucket seat interior with console. All the chrome and trim is original and in excellent condition for its age. Every piece of glass is the original Carlite including the wing windows and are in great condition. As you can see in the pictures, the interior is almost perfect and completely original. The trunk is all original material and has the jack and spare tire.
The engine compartment has been detailed for show. The 427 engine has been completely gone through and all paper work including the dyno results can be seen in the pictures. This car drives very nice down the road and feels extremely tight and solid like any low mileage and original car should. The undercarriage is original with the exception of the exhaust.
