1951 GMC Truck - Rat Rod
Description
The time has come for me to part ways with my truck, "Gerty" as we have called her. After building a house and having my first child, we just don't drive it anymore. The only thing 1951 about it is the body. It sits on a Suburban chassis, which at the time had only 47,000 miles on it, has an HEI 350, 700r4-4 speed automatic, posi rear end, power steering, power brakes, easily runs highway speeds, and is truly just fun to drive. As you can see nothing was spared in the build, starting with sandblasting the frame. This is was not some backyard hack-job, it was built in my full time shop, using all new parts and sparing no expense. Everything is new or rebuilt that went back into it, all new fuel lines, brakes and brake lines, ball joints and bearings, Summit custom aluminum radiator, flex fan, kick ass stereo with the head unit in the glove box, new distributor, all new wiring throughout, of course all lights work, I even installed turn signals and wired them into the original running lights. The gauges I am particularly proud of, the originals were used but painstakingly rebuilt with new parts, to maintain the original appearance. 12volt wiper kit installed. My wife and I used to take it to car shows, local parades, and quite often just out on date night. It always turns heads and will outrun just about anything. I am not going to list all of the work done, but trust me the truck needs nothing, just your personal touch to make it yours. I may consider trades, but no I don't want your 1983 "project" Ford with 716,000 miles. Something more like your suicide door Lincoln Continental. Please contact me with any and all questions.
