Description
Up for sale is my 1990 Honda Crx Si with under 87,000 miles! I no longer need this car for commuting, but if it doesn't sell, that's okay too because I believe the price on solid, great-running, fuel efficient Crxs will only appreciate.
Aside from the stereo, this car is about as original as you are going to find in a car of this vintage. Everything on it works well. It has AC and the sunroof works great.
I have many of the receipts, even from the original owner. Even though this car is 27 years old, I like it better than my 2014 Ford. It is more fun to drive and gets lots of attention everywhere it goes.
The Good:
- 87000 original miles
- Sunroof glides open and shut-no hesitation or leaking
- New windshield
- Si wheels
- good rubber
- AC
- extremely clean and well cared for
- maintenance and repair records
- outstanding gas mileage
- smooth shifting
- an engine clean enough to eat off of
- excellent original condition
- everything works great on it
- Kenwood Excelon with four new speakers
- Bluetooth enabled stereo system
- Hands free microphone hooked to stereo
The Bad:
- it doesn't leak oil or smell of burning oil, but you will want to check it from time to time because the level drops a little between oil changes (It burned oil until I took it to my mechanic and put $1800 into it to fix it- fixes listed below under NEW)
- Most of the cosmetic issues are happening in the driver's side door which makes me think it needs a new seal
The Ugly: (shown in pictures)
- The driver's door stop extender is currently in the back (not installed)
- As with every Crx I've seen, the driver's seat has some rips in it
- There are rust spots on the driver's door
- There is a double quarter-sized rust bubble behind the passenger's side rear wheel well
- There is a scratch on the plastic bumper which looks black in the pictures
NEW: timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment, external drive, coolant change, rocker support shaft and rocker arms, and an engine seal.
Please keep in mind that this car is not new, but it is in incredibly great condition for its age. I bought it to use as a commuter car, but then decided to drive for Uber and needed a newer, four door car so I purchased a Ford. This Honda has more life left in it than it has seen so far. If you are in the market for a nicely preserved classic of this era, then you know how difficult it can be to find just the right one. I searched for several years to find this one and would like to keep it but it doesn't fit my needs anymore and I'd rather see it go to a Honda enthusiast than to sit around collecting dust.
A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of purchase and the balance is due within 7 days in person with cash or a cashier's check. I do not want the entire payment through Paypal because Elon Musk has enough money and doesn't need mine.
I will not release the title or the car until the cashier's check clears my bank.
