Description

For sale AT NO RESERVE: 1967 International Travelall 1100 Custom. I purchased this Travelall from a gentleman in Tehachapi, California where it had sat unused for many years. This Travelall is one that I did not need but being a California rig not plagued with the typical structural rust Internationals are prone to, very original and a darn straight body I decided it needed to be saved! After a short stay at the mechanics the Travelall was back on the road.

I already have a nice 1965 International Travelall (soon to be for sale) and am realizing I can’t keep or save them all so it is time to pass this one on to someone else. This rig a great candidate for a restoration project,as it is 98% rust-free (unheard off for an International), unmolested, a V-8 and the top of the line “Custom” model. I say "project" because even though the truck is usable as is, the engine is tired, the suspension is worn and it will need body, paint and interior. I'll do my best to describe this 1967 International Travelall 1100 Custom below:

Exterior: Original paint with lots of primer and patina! Straight old Traveall with only one minor dent in the hood. The dent in the hood is very minor but the nuts where the hood bolts to the hinges weregone and the structure is slightly damaged.I have repaired the nuts but the fit is not real good.In addition, the previous owner removed the hood latch mechanism and installed hood pins to lock the hood in place. As a result of rust in the driver’s fender the fit of the driver’s door is poor. The door is tough to close and will need some attention to get that just right fit. Also, I have no keys for the doors.

Even though the International is a California rig and has never seen salt there is rust at the bottom of the driver’s fender (below the fuel filler) and in the tailgate. These panels can be easily unbolted and replaced or repaired.Fortunately, there is NO structuralrust in the cowl or in the floors! This is extremely unusual for an International and most likely attributable to it being a California rig. Despite the worn paint, minor rust, primer and patina the Travelall still receives thumbs-up and smiles whenever I go for a neighborhood cruise!

Interior: Original and worn but presentable. The dash pad is cracked, the headliner has been removed and one of the “Custom” door panels is not installed (I have it but it is not installed). Both door panels need attention. The original driver’s seat upholstery is worn and torn under the cover. The back seat is original and also has tears that can be seen in the photos. Carpet has been removed to expose the virgin rot free floors.

As for the glass, all but the windshield, the driver’s window and the wing windows are cracked and need replaced.

For the gauges, the temp and amp gauge work while the oil pressure and gas gauge are inoperable.

Headlights, taillights, blinkers and windshield wipers all work.Dash lights, dome light, fan, and rear window do not.Radio has been removed and dash has been cut.Light indicating 4x4 is engaged is operational!

Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out okay but the 304-V-8 is tired and suspension /steering needs attention. Probably would go a ways as is on the farm or back and forth to town for short runs. Heavy towing or sustained highway use would require a refresh of the motor and suspension work. Clutch, transmission, and transfer case all work well.Brakes were recently worked on but the remain a bit touchy and the rig still wants to pull when braking. The 304 V-8 runs fine and pulls strong, no weak cylinders or loose bearings (a couple noisy lifters) but it does want to smoke when cold. The International does have a leaking main seal. Truck has an auxiliary fuel tank that that is not connected. I'm running just off the main tank. Tires have decent tread but are weather cracked. Exhaust is old and should be replaced at some time.

Pricing/Misc: If you're looking for a minty cream puff or restored Travelall, this isn't your ride. If you like the nostalgia feel of an old rig and want a beater to tool around in, or want a Travelall for the farm or ranch, and don't mind working on it, this could be the one. Title is clear and in my name, buyer will need to get insurance upon purchase as I will cancel mine. Truck runs and drives okay, but flying in and driving it home isn't advised.

Fully restored these Travelalls will bring high teens to low 20’s. I sold one a couple of years ago which fetched high teens.A buddy of mine sold one around the same time that brought close to 20K.This rig is far from what those rigs wereBUT the potential is there!AND IT IS BEING OFFERED AT NO RESERVE!

Good Luck!Feel free to call Dean at 661-703-8402 with any questions
