If you want a piece of International Scout history this is the one you want. Look online you will only find pictures of maybe five SNO-STARs restored. Documentation states that International made only 472 of this model, making it the rarest of all the Scout offerings. To put this in perspective International made 532,674 Scouts from 1960 to 1980 and how many do you see on the road today....Think about it?

Typical rust areas behind and in front of the door have been replaced with new sheet metal. There is a little rust on the top of the front fenders and some in the bed. The driver door does not line up that well (typical of the scouts) and has some rust at the bottom of the door and near the top hinge. The passenger side rear fender is the spot that will need some body work to repair the shape. The entire vehicle was painted over with a white paint (looks like it was painted with a roller or brush) the good thing is this may have stopped a lot of surface rust. With some lite sanding and chemical stripper, I have reviled a lot of the original yellow. At some point the owner added an electric fuel pump. I am not sure if this was for security reasons or if the factory pump was bad. It needs both front floor pans as is typical with these vehicles. The floors have been covered with a fiberglass floor pan and can be lifted out.

    A few highlights:

  • the steering wheel is not cracked at all.
  • the automatic transmission center council is in great condition.
  • has new tune-up and the engine runs nice and quiet
  • has a vintage 8 track player…. ok not a highligh, but fun.
  • passenger seat in great shape and diver seat not that bad.
  • body is very good overall with some work need on back fenders.
  • the lower panels where every Scout rusts out have been replaced with new sheet metal.
  • plow is in great shape.

I currently do not have a clear title but I am working to resolve this.

This is a great Scout that needs to be completely restored. I do not have the place or skill set to do this right. If I had a large barn or shop I would tuck this one away for when I have the time to do it right. I have not driven it, I have only started the engine to verify that it runs. I would prefer PP friends and family, Venmo or cash in person.
