Description

1967 International Harvester Scout. Clean Ohio Title. 196ci Slant 4, 3 speed floor shift, four wheel drive (with locking hubs) high and low range. 41xxx ORIGINAL miles! This scout runs and drives and is a very good project.
The Good:-New Battery-New Fuel filter-New Camshaft-New long tube Headers-NOS Lift-gate that’s 100% rust free (from west coast)-Detroit Locker!-Low miles, simple-The bed is entirely rust free, was never really used-Removable Hardtop (becomes full convertible)-Comes with a 7ft Meyers hydrolic plow with all the hardware, pump, etc-Gets lots of compliments!-Has a fun antique “AAAOOOOGGAA” horn
The Bad:-Fuel gauge and Speedometer don’t work (most likely speedo cable)-Drivers seat has a cut, but has a Mexican blanket -Front driver side wheel well has rusted-Lights were disconnected for auxiliary plow lights (which worked) but with the plow gone, so no headlights or brake lights, but that could be easily sorted with a splice kit
The History:From what I was told, the original owner used the Scout very little, accumulating about 40,000 miles over the course of several decades. The second owner bought the scout from the first owner and put in a new cam, headers, and used it as a farm truck and took it to occasional car shows. I bought the Scout from him and did rust repair, and put in new battery, lift-gate, fuel filter, and overall tlc. Now I want a muscle car instead of the Scout and would like to pass it on to a good owner.
Overall:This scout is mechanically and structurally sound, cosmetics are good, could use a touch up, or keep it as it is. Has many new parts! These are really climbing in value as they are one of the first SUVs and inspired the hugely popular Ford Bronco. I don’t want a whole lot for the scout, and it is priced to sell. The Scouts you see at this price are all basket cases that don’t run, this drives and is fairly solid. I would use this Scout every day, but I have other old car in need of attention and want it to go to a good home instead of sit in the garage.
I can send more pictures, videos and you can stop for a test drive if you would like. I’d like to be as helpful and honest as I can! Thank you for your time, Ryan
