For sale by Sports Car Classics is this wonderfully preserved early Jaguar XJ-S.

Over the years we have dealt with and restored many classic Jaguars including XJS’s & XJ’s. We have never had such a well preserved original early version of the iconic Jaguar.

Bodywork

The car is totally rust free and still appears to be in its original paint. This early S is unrestored, un-molested and still in exceptional condition. All that is present to show its age is a slight crease on the RH rear wheel arch, door and the front wing and there are a few small stone chips around the car. However as can be seen from the pictures, it does still present very well.

Interior

The interior on this car is wonderfully un-molested and totally original. It is very rare to see these early Jaguars with such original carpets and coverings that aren’t faded and worn through. The driver’s side floor carpet is the only part that has some wear and tear. In the boot or trunk area it is in exceptional shape, even the spare wheel still carries the original unused Dunlop SP Sport White Wall Tire. The original radio and 8 track player works fine.

Mechanical

The car drives very well with exception of being a little rich. The car rides very well and has no knocks. Everything is in fine working order.

History

The car is believed to be a three-owner car and has well documented history including the original owner’s manual.

Early cars in such original, un-molested condition like this seldom come on the market and are becoming very difficult to acquire. The Jaguar XJ-s has already established itself as an iconic British Classic Car. Therefore, this is a unique opportunity to get into this mark at realistic value.
