This listing is for a fully restored(everything has be gone through) nothing untouched, 1966 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster in it factory original exterior color opalescent dark green with tan leather interior and a black convertible top. Paint is still chip and scratch free as when first painted.
If you have done your research you know this is a highly desirable 4.2 liter Series 1 sports car which was only available for a short time before U.S. regulations caused noticeable changes in the appearance and specifications in the summer of 1967.This new engine design brought engine displacement up from the 3.8 liter engine improving drivability and giving better low end torque. Also a full-synchromesh transmissions was introduced. This is considered one of the best years for drivability of all E-types. Not often you can enjoy something this much that is also a blue chip investment.
I had a full restoration done at XK’s Unlimited in San Luis Obispo, CA after only bringing in the car for a rear main seal. The car at that time had never been restored. It was a survivor with all of its original parts...not ever even having a repaint. It was a hard decision but decided to do a full restoration. Almost two years later and six figures out of my pock the E-type was finished. When I first saw the car I was amazed at how great the car looked, which of course I had expected...but when I climbed in and fired her up I knew I had something special. Taking her through the rolling hills of California wine country was amazing. Hearing her unique exhaust note echo in the canyons while going through the gears, there is no description to give it justice. Maybe the sound and feel through your body of that perfect golf tee shot...no not even close. Only a select few can relate to what I’m talking about. The Jaguar E-type was leaps ahead of any car from that era.The restoration was done about 12 years ago and looks as good as the first day it was finished. Has been regularly maintained now only having 1,500 miles since it’s restorations completion for a total of only 72,000 miles since new back in 1966. Full documentation of the six figure restoration will be included with the sale.
Sold out of Beverly Hills, CA new and now located in the Las Vegas area. I’m the 2nd owner of the car.
The E-type has had some upgrades for drivability and performance during the restoration, but I do retain all of the changed out original parts which were also rebuilt and will go to the new owner.
Car is all numbers matching with all original body panels. Never had any rust and has never had been in an accident.
Have the Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
Some upgrades done were performance F.I.A Performance stainless steel exhaust system and Stainless steel headers, aluminum cooling system with electric fan, front and back Wilwood disc brakes, and brand new 5 speed transmission built specifically for 6 cyl. E-types. This car drives and handles amazing. Much improved on a already impressive car.Has its tools, jack, and spare as it should. Also included is the pictured custom car cover made specifically for a 1966 e-type. Everything works on the car. Having the added 5 speed transmission makes this car one of the most pleasurable cars to drive at any speed. Just can’t explain how much joy you get from driving this car without actually being in the drivers seat yourself. The sound of the exhaust as you go through the gears is something that can only be experienced in an E-type.
VIN Number and License number were whited out in pictures to prevent any fraud.
