You are looking at a 1987 Jeep J10/J20 long bed pick-up.This J10 has been upgraded with all the best parts off a 1982 J20.The engine is the V-8 AMC 360 (5.9) with a 550 CFM carb and the axles are Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear (much heavier duty).
The previous owner was a Jeep nut and wrenched on all his own stuff, he had 4 Jeep pickup’s and 3 extra engines in his garage and clearly knew what he was doing. He referred to this Jeep as his cream-puff, and it was the cleanest of his 4 Jeep J series trucks, as itremained un-lifted, mostly stock and never off-roaded.
I had planned on keeping this one, but the son has different taste than his old man and we just picked up an old VW bus to wrench on, so the “cream-puff” has got to go.
Since purchasing this Jeep earlier this spring, I have cleaned it up a bit.It already ran nicely and has been a blast to drive around town. I put in new carpet, had the seat recovered, had the wheels balanced and rotated, fluids changed and cleaned it thoroughly and often.
There are no rips in the headliner, the wipers, turn signals headlights all work as they should, all the air condition parts are there, but needs attention to get the ac working. The wing windows open and close as they should, the windows rolled up and down as they should as well, however the driver’s window stays open about a quarter of an inch (confident this is a simple repair. The door panels are clean, the sun visors are clean and work as they should. The truck has a fuel pump wired separately and has a dead-man switch under the dash, which serves as a theft deterrent. The engine start quickly has no ticks, leaks or smoke.New exhaust. Interior electronics and vents work as they should as well (needs a stereo). All interior and exterior lights work. Tires are in great shape and have 80+% tread left.Truck has brush guard as you can see in pics and all seat belts are clean and work correctly. Power steering and power brakes work great as well.As I mentioned above, the truck is great around town, but the rear end is geared very low and could use a higher ratio if you plan on taking any roads trips…
This truck is in rare condition and someone is going to get a great truck for the money.I believe these Jeeps trucks were only made through 1988, and this one is in even better shape than same years models, andit has the upgraded components.
It is a “modern” Gladiation with better suspension, ride, body and amenities than many of the later models.
There are very small areas of rust on this truck, which I am sure you will agree are much better/lesser than trucks of this age. There are a couple areas where the rust was spray painted over years ago (on the edges of the fenders, nothing through or even concerning), but even this doesn’t need immediate attention and is not through (no holes), and it adds to the character of this truck.
Thanks for looking and shoot me a note if you have any questions.I am starting the auction at$5,500with No Reserve. I reserve the right to end auction early, as it is for sale locally as well.
Also, wheels are old school centerline aluminum wheels with Firestone tires, size 265-75/16.
