RESTORED 1984 JEEP CJ7 ORIGINAL AMC LAREDO CJ 7 PACKAGE WILLYS BRONCO
Description
This auction is for a beautifully restored 1984 AMC Jeep CJ7- Laredo. I purchased this Jeep off a gentleman who used to live in California. He had the original 4.2 Leader (6 cylinder) engine rebuilt, in California, before driving it cross country to New Hampshire, where I then purchased it from him. When I purchased the Jeep it was still boasting it's original paint, and graphics (Laredo) which were extremely faded and worn. The original color was a metallic brown with the same Laredo graphic colors. Over the past six months I paid to have the Jeep restored.
The body was completely sand blasted down to bare metal. The frame and undercarriage were then painted black, and the body primed and painted a beautiful dark metallic green ( base coat / clear coat- PPG limerock-green ). The pictures really don't do this Jeep and the colors justice; It needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The body, panels, and floors are all solid originals. It hasn't been patched/welded or filled like most of the CJ's on the east coast. You can clearly see that this was a true west coast jeep. I did replace the hood and glove-box door. Both are American made steel products. The reason I replaced them was because the originals had some small dents, and I did not want body filler being used on this Jeep restoration. The Laredo graphics kit is the best kit on the market, produced by Phoenix Graphix, and comes with a warranty that protects against fade. New emblems, and fender flares were also added to the CJ. Their are zero (0) miles on this Jeep since it came out of the paint booth. It was brought strait from the body shop to my garage on a flat-bed. This jeep looks absolutely amazing; It really is gorgeous.
The Jeep rides, drives, and runs excellent. Actually, better than it did when it rolled off the showroom floor back in 1984. When the previous owner had the engine rebuilt he also had some items added that were not available back in 1984. A Howell TBI fuel injection kit was added, electronic ignition, new power brakes, power brake booster, disc front brakes, and Hella H4 headlights. The Jeep has the Borg Warner T5 (manual 5 speed). It shifts smooth with no problems, and is appropriately geared for driving around town, and also on the highway. The front seats were upgraded to Smittybilt buckets. They are comfortable, and the tan color pairs excellently with the dark green paint and tan graphics. A Smittybilt security stereo floor console was added, and works great to secure items, and use as an arm rest. The stereo is a Kenwood brand, and hooked to speakers in the dash. The Jeep is equipped with power steering, and steers without any issue. Everything on the Jeep works to include lights, switches, heater, gauges; Even the original clock still works! The mileage reads 162023. The gentleman that sold it to me said that he had the engine rebuilt just 1 month prior to driving it to NH; He said it had less than 6,000 miles when he sold it to me, and I only put another 500 miles on it before having it restored. I do not have any paperwork related to the rebuild, but I do believe this to be accurate. The engine looks clean, runs clean, and has plenty of power and oil PSI. This Jeep is ready for some cruising in the sun!
It was an original Laredo Jeep. The Laredo package was an option were the bumper, grill, and wheels were upgraded to chrome. I had all these original chrome items polished; They are original, not new items. The rear seat is also original, and does have a rip on the corner, and a previous repair (pictured). If the buyer lives on the west coast I believe it will pass your more strict emissions testing/inspection; I never removed any of the California emissions equipment; Still equipped with the oxygen sensors, EGR valve, Evap canister, and catalectic converter. The BF Goodrich Tires have plenty of tread life left. Spare is full size with BestTop cover; Not chrome. I also have the bumper padding and cover that goes over the roll-bar; I think the paint looks better than the cover, but the new owner can decide what they prefer. The Jeep does not have a top or doors; The buyer can decide what top option they want to go with, but I just did not want to risk scratching or covering any of the beautiful paint.
This Jeep will be stored in my heated garage until the completion of the transaction. The Jeep will be sold with a clear NH title, and bill of sale. This Jeep must be picked-up in NH or the buyer must arrange/pay for the shipping. I have previously used the company Horseless Carriage, and have been satisfied with their services: www.horselesscarriage.com . Please email me with any questions or concerns. If you prefer to talk on the phone just email me your name and phone number. If you would like to come and see the jeep prior to bidding we can make arrangements to do so. Payment is preferred cash in person or certified bank check. Please no scams; I have heard and seen it all. A non-refundable deposit of $500 dollars is due within 48 hours of close of auction.
