1960 LANCIA APPIA LUSSO VIGNALE
Description
A rare survivor. One of only 477 built. Most of these Vignale coupes have died and gone to car heaven. This car is virtually what is today considered a "barn find". Garaged for 37 years and made roadworthy last year. New clutch, water pump and fuel pump. Approx $4000 of service work carried out in Italy. Good running and driving condition. I acquired this Appia from the family of the original owner. Clear California title in my name but also comes with the original 1960 Italian title and license plates for historical purposes. Paint is flaking. No accident damage. A basically solid car well worth a cosmetic restoration. The trunk rubber was completely dried out and perished and water has caused rust to form at the lip around the rear of the baggage compartment (see photo). There is also rust at the bottom of the spare wheel well and at the bottom of the doors. It was my intention to cruise around in the As-Is condition just for the fun of it! Raise a few eyebrows at car shows. Certain health issues have put some plans on hold. I hope this rare car finds a new custodian. Tires are good. Electrics work. Instruments work. Most importantly all the hard to find chrome trim is intact. Speedo reads 94827 (approx 58889 miles). The last oil change sticker from 1977 shows about 4000 kms less.
