1994 Range Rover County LWB
Description
Refinements to the Land Rover-built 1994 Range Rover models, including an increased EPA fuel economy rating and revised interior and exterior trim, maintain Range Rover's position as the "Gold Standard" among sport utility vehicles. The award-winning flagship Range Rover County LWB (long wheelbase) paced Land Rover North America, Inc. to a 35 percent sales increase through the first half of 1993. Launched last year as the most significant technical advance made since the British-built luxury sport utility vehicle was introduced in 1970, the County LWB, with its 108" wheelbase and limousine-like rear legroom, has garnered several major awards and positive reviews from the automotive press. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 1994 Range Rover County LWB is $50,200. The County model carries an MSRP of $46,900 for 1994. Extra cost options include Beluga Black clearcoat paint finish for $300 and a choice of two new exclusive leather trim colors on the County LWB for an additional $750.
Range Rover County LWB After a much-heralded debut in October 1992, a very successful first-year sales record and several major automotive awards, the County LWB returns with refinements for 1994. County LWB offered a choice of interior colors, either standard light-hued Sorrell Beige or extra cost Dark Sable and Light Stone, for its Connolly leather seating areas. The Dark Sable interior is available exclusively on County LWB with two exterior paint choices: new Montpellier Red or Beluga black. Also for 1994 are popular (and rare) Brooklands Green and Cornish Cream exterior finishes which are available only with a unique Light Stone Connolly leather interior treatment that has a revised horizontal stitchpattern. The County LWB continues as the most powerful Range Rover ever built, this year with an EPA fuel economy rating improved to 13 mpg city and 16 mpg highway for the durable, fuel-injected, 4.2 litre aluminium V-8. With an output of 200 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque, it brings 0-60 acceleration below 10 seconds with a top speed of nearly 112 mph. Range Rover County LWB owners enjoy an additional eight inches of legroom in the rear seat. Redesigned aperture angles make rear doors easier to operate as well. Puddle lamps on the County LWB's rear doors' lower edges help to avoid the prospect of stepping in something unpleasant.
There were only 5,790 brought to the USA, this particular year was the last made before the "soft dash" model was released making it a very desirable vehicle. I have personally owned many Range Rover Classic's, this one being my favored "hard dash", the Paint and body are in extremely excellent condition as you will note in the pictures, it was clearly very well taken care of.
Engine This is the largest and most powerful engine available in the Classic, the 4.2L was a huge success with the Land Rover crowd. With such low miles it's not surprising that it runs very strong and just received a new fuel pump, frankly it does not need anything under the bonnet at this time, cooling system flushed, all other fluids/oil changed regularly and recently as well as new cap/rotor/wires/plugs.
Transmission/Transfer case Smooth shifting without hesitation, 4WD Hi and LOW are shifted into position with ease, transmission/Transfer case was serviced regularly. Viscous coupler was tested and is also in 100% working order.
Body Absolutely gorgeous, regularly buffed and waxed - the only attention the paint/body will need is on the front nose of the hood where 23 years of debris took it's course - dings/chips are present ONLY in this location, there are no dents (aside for a few "door dings") no major scratches or fading anywhere else, this is FACTORY paint in a very rare Brooklands Green color (similar to a British Racing green only metallic free)..
Glass All glass is MINT, front windshield was recently replaced with OEM heated glass, all other glass is clear and free of cracks and chips. Recent tint was installed SunTek UV reflection looks great and compliments the vehicles appearance.
Tires Tires are all new General Grabber HD 225/75R16 with only 200 miles on them, there are FIVE tires (4 mounted and one extra for a future spare), there is also the original Michelin tire mounted on a wheel which appears to have never been used with the OEM jack, handles etc.
Interior The Brooklands Green option came with Light Stone Leather interior which is in very good condition, the only blemishes that can be seen are on the drivers seat, otherwise the rest of the seats appear in great condition. NOTE; regarding the drivers seat, there are no MAJOR tears or holes in the leather aside for a small slit on the leather seat & "chipped" leather revealing swede leather underneath. Carpet is in very good condition considering how many shoes it's had on it, no holes or major stains present. The headliner has some slight sagging in the rear (see pictures) but the front is surprisingly still in good shape aside for a few stains. The wood dash and console have been stripped and worked over, looks incredible with different hues of natural wood accents (see pictures). A rare site to see is in the trunk, the rear cargo cover is still intact and has not gone missing as most of them have, also the carpeted spare wheel cover and CD changer are included.
Electronics This can sometimes be challenging with these old girls, fortunately with this one mostly everything is working EXCEPT - The side mirrors are activating but the mirrors do not obey commands, they move but not in the desired direction, Cruise control is intact but does not actuate, Radio is not factory and will need attention as will the speakers. On that note, all windows work 100%, horn, turn signals, hazards, lights, clock, headlights/high beams, brake lights, sunroof, door locks, heated windshield, driver and passenger seat switches etc all work 100%. The air conditioning and heat work well, the heater core has NOT been bypassed.
Under the chassis You will find a nice dry undercarriage with very minimal leakage (if any), surface rust has been noted on some bare metal parts but that said, surface rust is easily wiped with steel wool if desired.
MISC information There was a recall on most of these vehicles regarding the fuel tank, this one was replaced by a Land Rover dealership and is 100% (this will show on the CarFax report)
I've enjoyed his completely, the only reason why I am selling this one (and my 1995 LWB - see my other auction) is due to space issues, My passion for these Classic's is very strong and I assure you they have been VERY well taken care of. The ONLY modification that was performed to this Classic was the coil and shock conversion from the dreaded airbag system, otherwise she is in all original condition as you can see. It spent most of it's life in Arizona, but originally came from Colorado where it miraculouslyescaped the clenches of potential rust issues. This Classic is ready for any adventure, if you have questions please ask.
