1994 Land Rover Range Rover County Classic LWB 4.2L
Description
My life priorities have changed and I am listing by baby for sale.
This is a 1994 Range Rover Classic LWB 4.2L I have owned this car for the past 10 years and it has been my pet project. As my life has changed, my focus has shifted and
this has sat in my garage for the better part of 2 years collecting dust. It’s time for someone to pick up where I left off. Yes it is a bit rusty. Yes it has dents and dings and the
paint is faded. I have enjoyed this car very much. You did not click on this to hear me reminisce so here is the nitty gritty.
The Good and The Bad:
- Two brand new Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires in the front with less than 500 miles on them
*Matching spare with excellent tread on it
- Coil Spring conversion done from air shocks
- Bilstein shocks
- New Battery
- Side Steps installed
- Updated A/C to work with new refrigerant (although there is a leak and it will not stay charged)
- Comes with the roof rack pictured (weather worn but handy)
- Replaced brake pressure sensor within the past year (but now the ABS light stays on but it isn’t throwing any codes)
- Driver’s door pull is from a Discovery. I had been having troubles sourcing a matching replacement and the black Discovery model worked/fit just fine
- *important* The doors do not lock from the exterior. I am not sure what happened to the mechanism. Last time I unlocked it I heard a metallic snap
- Usual battery drain if it is not driven regularly. There are some electrical gremlins and I do not do electrical very well.
*Under hood light doesn’t work
*Radiator warning lights stay on/flash but I’ve never in 10 years been able to make that stop.
*Cruise Control has never worked and I have never tried to fix it
- Tailgate window is good. Rust is just barely starting to form in this usual trouble area
- Needs bottom link of the rear suspension. Currently bent so the alignment isn’t perfect
*roversnorth.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=PLS038 $70 easy to find part
- Driver’s seat control has one mode that doesn’t work; which is the back rest to make you sit up “straighter”
- Driver’s rear cubby is broken
- Needs some attention under the dash for the worn hoses for defrost/ventilation. It does work but isn’t ideal
- Windscreen defrost is operational (according to my mechanic) but needs some work/attention to be functional
- Hella lights in front
- Brush guard is rusty, trusty, and old but is also included
- Driver’s side blinker housing is broken and not firmly attached to frame
- Borla exhaust
- Battery hold down bracket is functional but could be replaced (worn)
- Intermittent setting on wipers just recently went out. Don’t know if it is a bad motor or part of the usual Rover electrical gremlins
- Interior fuse box door not attached
- Range Rover workshop manual and parts catalog included (well used but included)
- There is rust in the usual spots and some of the interior wood is cracked. The front door seals are in need of replacing as they are very worn.
- The current paint should be evident from the pictures and there are some dents and dings. Missing some light covers and a decal from the back
- Rear defrost works (minus one line) but not on the rear side windows
- Hood release plastic pull handle is broken but still usable
- The all important sun roof does work
OK, are you still with me? Good. I am trying for full disclosure on what I know about my baby. This is a classic that I just don’t have time for anymore and it would be a great car for someone with some time and know how to dig into. Low Reserve Price. I’d love to see this go to someone who can pick up where I left off. Feel free to send me any questions that you may have.
Buyer MUST arrange pickup. There are plenty of auto shippers available or you can just drive it away.
HAPPY BIDDING
