Description

This auction is for a 1972 Land Rover Series III 88" wagon 4X4 four speed hi/lo range 2.25 petrol engine. Vehicle is currently registered in Connecticut. Note CT does not title vehicle of this age but you will receive all CT paperwork that you will need to register in your state (CT Supplemental Assignment of Ownership form Q1v)
I will try to list all of the Pros and Cons
Pros
-Galvanized Chassis (Installed by previous owner)-Galvanized Bulkhead (Installed by previous owner)-Parabolic Springs and shocks(Installed by previous owner)
New in past year-New alternator-New Carburetor-New Battery-New Clutch Maste, Slave and flex line-All Diffs, Trans and transfer box and engine oils changed-New tires 31x10.5-15 Courser All Terrain on correct width wheels with wheel spacers-New oil pressure sending unit-New brake light switch and more
-This vehicle starts runs and drives well. It cruises at 50 mph-Front end seems tight and it tracks straight, for a land rover.-All gauges and warning lights work as do head lights, tail lights, brake and turn signal lights and horn. Heater blower is a bit loud at low speeds

What it needs (really nothing as I drive it "as is" often) but in a perfect world.
-Paint as shown in pics the paint is flaking on the body and galvanized chassis and bulkhead. I believe the previous owner id not properly prime these parts before painting. However many people like just the way it is,-Interior could use some attention. Passenger seat has a tear, dash has a couple of cracks and headliner retaining trim is a bit tatty.-Transmission and transfer box as well as the diffs all weep a bit, as do most-After sitting the engine will puff a bit of smoke on start up.-Front axle balls show pitting.
In Summary, this vehicle is very solid with all of the heavy and expensive work done. In my opinion if you don't have a galvanized chassis and bulkhead you'll need them at some point and the parabolic springs are in most series land Rovers future. My price reflects these major and costly improvements. So please don't compare it to those that have frames that are rusted or patched. The vehicle is being sold as i, where is, with all sales final and no warranty of any kind. Buyer is responsible for all transportation costs. $1,000 non-refundable deposit via paypal due in 24 hours of sale and balance in cash or bank transfer. Please feel free to ask questions or arrange for an inspection here in CT
Note if sold with the "buy it now " option I will include many spare parts including but not limited to Fairey overdrive unit, original wheel, new brake drums and brake parts a spare head (perfect for a unleaded conversion) If not bought with Buy it Now these parts are available for sale to the new buyer at an additional price. thanks for looking
