1972 Lincoln Continental Mk IV Cartier -- 75,995 Miles - 460 V8
Description
1972 Lincoln Continental MK4. 75,000 original miles, 460 V8. This car runs & drives great. Zero mechanical & functional issues. I have owned SEVERAL older Lincolns over the years, and this is one of the best. Many of them have rust issues at the edges of the vinyl top, and this one has NONE (not even the cursed area at the base of the rear window). Tires are great with plenty of tread. The headlights will stay closed about a week before they start to raise up when not driven (that is unusually good for a Lincoln of this vintage sot the pneumatics are strong). Power windows work great and are problem free. Heat and air works well. I have never tried the cruise control, so I have no clue. All interior and exterior lights work fine and as they should. Zero body rust. Engine compartment is clean with no nasty residues. Interior hood light also works fine. Transmission shifts fine.
Regarding the interior: The dash is above average but does show aging as expected. Seats are much nicer than average with no tears. Driver's seat is surprisingly nice as shown. Headliner is absolutely perfect. Floor carpet is complete with no bald spots (I do not have any floor mats). Door panels are very nice with the only issue being some cracking on the vinyl of the door handle coverings (shown in pics). Handles are still soundly attached. Doors open and close well and latch easily. There seems to be no "sag" at all on the doors (unusual for these BIG doors after 46 years). Trunk opens and closes without issue, and it is water-tight.
The only known issues are as follows:
*The "Low Fuel" light always stays on. The gas gauge works fine, but even when the tank is full, the "Low Fuel" light is on*The power antenna works, but the sectional metal part is completely gone. There is just a flexible piece of plastic that comes in/out of the hole when operated. AM radio works fine even without the antenna extended.
This car can be viewed 7 days per week (8am-6pm) at our store (not a car dealership). Email for details. This vehicle has no warranty whatsoever, neither implied nor expressed. I do have a title in hand (I have never done anything with the title because Alabama does not issue titles for pre-1976 cars).
I am more than happy to put the buyer in touch with a local shipper if needed. The price of shipping (and all shipping arrangements) is entirely the responsibility of the buyer.
