Series III: A carefully refurbished survivor - great mechanicals & electrics!
Description
All re-commissioning work was done by previous owner, a professional mechanic, prior to my purchase. The work done from November 2016 to May 2018 is fully described and documented in 50+ emails (with photos). The 18 month refurbishment required more than 200 hours. Please send a message to request full documentation of the recommissioning work. Original paint polished and waxed. Minor rust on doors and rocker panels stabilized. See photos. A/C, windows, seats, etc. all work as intended. Valid CA smog certificate - CA registration is good to 8/2020. Request an inspection and/or test drive. Photos show temporary seat covers, removed for car shows. A photo also shows leather hide (80" x 96") included with purchase. Small piece removed to replace dash header. Original, leather-bound owner's manual included, see photos. Enjoy this Maserati as an "original survivor" or complete a restoration. 1980 price: $65,470 From the blogspot "Full Collectors’ Guide Maserati Quattroporte / Royale III Tipo AM330 1979-1990":
"The Italian Head of State, Sandro Pertini, used a Quattroporte, for example, apparently even turning up to a meeting with Enzo Ferrari in one.
In the USA, the Quattroporte was a cool style statement and became something of a Hollywood star, featuring in films like The Running Man, Rocky and on TV in the legendary Miami Vice. Its most important starring role, however, was in The Godfather Part III. Until the modern era, it was the most-featured Maserati on film. Times were changing and Maserati’s clientele was too. The old-school, old-money royalty of times gone by was giving way to the modern rich of music and film."
