Description

Up for sale is my 1993 Mazda Miata MX-5. This is going to be one of, if not, the cleanest NA Miata's you come across. I get kids and adults complementing me on this car ALL THE TIME!
Classic Red, Soft Top, 5 speed manual, 145,5XX original miles that may go up slightly as I will still drive it onoccasion during this auction. Mileage printed on the CA Title is 145,297, and was 144,XXX when I first got her.
I purchased this Miata while I was still living in Las Vegas in the Fall of 2015. The previous owner was a middle aged man who was keeping it for his son who was overseas. His son wanted to sell it as he needed the cash and that is how I ended up with it. I mainly wanted to use it as a fun weekend toy cruiser and possibly do the Flyin' Miata V8 swap down the road. Financial sense and responsibility has finally kicked in and I know now that this NA needs to find a good home. I have never raced or autocrossed this car. I don't driveaggressively. Those days are definitely way behind me...haha. I am a very responsible adult owner.
It was love at first sight for me when I first saw her. The Classic Red paint is in good condition for the year, though not perfect. The car ran well and shifted like butter when I first purchased it, but now it runs even better and like a dream after I took it to my trusted mechanic, Mori, at Uehara Motorworks in Vegas. Mori has done work on my FRS and WRX and was able to perform the same great work on this Miata.
I have put in around $4000 into this car since I got it. My loss is your gain. Some highlights:
  • Full tune up very shortly after I took possession of the vehicle, including spark plug replacement, Eneos Full Synthetic oil change, oil filter replacement, replace thrmostat and gasket, flush cooling system, recharge air conditioner, drain and refill trans fluid, drain and refill rear diff fluid, flush brake fluid, flush clutch fluid
  • Wheel and Tire Package new from TireRack: Enkei RPF1, 14x7 et28, wrapped in Dunlop Direzza Z2 Starspec, 185/60R14 - I have barely put any miles on these wheels and tires. Pretty much just the trip from Vegas to the bay and a handful thereafter.
  • New OEM Miata floor mats
  • Tein Flex Z Coilovers professionally installed by Uehara Motorworks - there was nothing wrong with the OEM suspension when I first got her, but Iswapped it out for looks to go with the new RPF1's. Matching Tein adjustment tools for thecoil overs are included.
  • Alignment done after suspension and wheel install by Eladio at H1 Performance in Las Vegas.
  • Wheelskins leather steering wheel cover
  • Cabrio-Shield, which I have on to protect the soft top at all times while the vehicle is not running is also included.
  • All invoices/receipts of work done since I have owned the vehicle is in my possession. I also have the receipt for the wheel and tire package.
  • Clean CA Certificate of Title is in my possession.

Once again, this is one of the cleanest/nicest 1st Gen, NA MX-5 Miatas you will ever come across. The Enkei Wheel and Tire package alone was $1443.60shipped to NV and all the tread is essentially new.

Since I purchased the car in fall of 2015, I pretty much just drove this from Vegas to the Bay early spring and have used it very sparingly since. It mainly just sits pretty in the driveway.

I will let you know thatI purchased this Miata for $4200 and then put in around $4000into the car, which includes thewheels and tires, the suspension, maintenance/full tune up, alignment, floor mats, Carbrio-Shield, and a few other things, not to mention registration in NV and then when I moved to California. The soft top was pretty much brand new when I bought her and is still in excellent condition. My loss is definitely your gain on this one. I did not use KBB as my guideline when I purchased it as it took me quite a while to find one in this condition. When I purchased it, I almost immediately took it to my mechanic to get it running like clockwork. I also gave it a good wash, clay bar, polish, and wax when I first got her. That took quite a while to do, but I do pay attention to detail.

It's defintely not a "mint" condition example, but even my other mechanic who did the alignment a couple weeks after the suspension/new wheels/tires, who works on many Miatas, told me that this was mechanically the cleanest one he had seen in a really long time. Most NAs are modded to hell and aren't even close to this one.In all honesty, I am not a "car guy" mechanically. I'm more of a "toy" person, but I am very confident in the reliability of this car. Have you heard of the "Million Mile Miata?"You essentially have no immediate work to do on her for a long time, unless you are super picky with minor details. Upon close inspection, some minor dings, relatively small dents, and small paint chips to be expected with a 23+ year old car. A small section of the clear coat on the rear bumper has bubbled up a bit. A small section of the carpet near the front driver side and the front passenger side has become dislodged from the sealing. I'm guessing they can just be tucked back in by a contractor that does interiors. Center brake light doesn't light up. Looks to be a wiring issue, but all other lights working perfectly, including the legendary pop-up headlights. The air bag indicator blinks consistently. I've read about this being common, but have yet to address it. The shift boot cover has a small tear. The replacements are easy to find, relatively inexpensive, and easy to install. Small scratch in the wind shield likely from an old wiper blade that was not fit correctly. Again, these are very small things to me. I am very picky myself and just wanted to point them out for you. They definitely are minor and do notneed immediate attention.

If you are truly interested, please email me with any questions.
Car must be picked up in person in California (SF Bay Area, East Bay).
I entered a requirement for a $500 deposit after the auction to secure interest. Full cash payment due in person. Please have the necessary funds if you decide that you want to bid on this car. It ruins it for everyone interested in the car if you flake out.

Thanks for looking and good luck!
Wow, just looked at the posted pics of the car...I am going to regret selling her...Lol

Heads up to the winner: I will not be available to transferpossession of the car on the Monday after the auction as I work all day and I have my fantasy football draft in the evening (sorry, duty calls, haha). I am pretty much available the rest of the weekdays following the auction. Please contact me with your preferred pick up time and I will reply to confirm. Thanks.
