Description

You are bidding on a 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL.It runs great and has treated us well, but it provides limited options for a car seat J.We hate to part with it, but I hope someone else can get as much enjoyment out of it as we did.

This is the first year for the 107 modelwhich was produced from 1972 to 1989. The 1972 U.S. model was labeled as a 350SL, but has a 4.5L engine; in 1973 the model was renamed as 450SL. The 1972 and 1973 models were the only years to have the small bumpers which make the car look so much better than the later models, and is absent the catalytic converters and complex and trouble prone climate control system of later years.

It has been a garaged California car her whole life. The car shows 26,222 miles on the odometer, but it is stuck at that reading. The vehicle was in storage for nearly 20 years after the original owner passed away.Apparently that was the reading when it was parked for storage. One of my family members purchased it and put approximately 2000 miles.I purchased it from them and put on about another 2000 miles.

Our best estimate is the total mileage is just over 30,000.

The car was repainted by the first owner in the original gold color. The interior and hard top is original.I replaced the soft top last fall with the same German canvas style top as the original.I also put new Michelin tires on about 500 miles ago.The CA registration is current through May 2017.

I took it our local independent Mercedes shop to have them change the fluids one last time and run through an inspection. The drag line on the steering has a joint with a worn rubber gasket, so you will hear a slight pop come from under the hood on occasion when making a hard turn.It is not a safety concern and doesn’t affect steering. The driver side window regulator is also starting to wear out and sometimes the window needs a helping hand from the driver to roll up all the way.The only dent I could find is the one pictured.

Clear title with pink slip in hand.I will also include a set of barely used sheepskin seat covers and a car cover.

I’ll be happy to show the vehicle in-person.Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Happy Bidding!
