1983 MERCEDES BENZ 300CD ALL ORIGINAL 50K MILES NR FINE CAR WITH A FEW ANOMALIES
Description
I'm selling my all original, 1983Mercedes Benz 300CD. I am the second owner having purchased the car from the original owner about 5 years ago. The car was known to me for over two decades before I purchased it. This car's fully documented going back to the original sales invoice, registration materials, copy of original title and window sticker along with many years of maintenance records all completed by an authorized Mercedes dealer.Currently, the odometer reads approximately 50,631 mileswhich is subject to change slightly with test drive(s).
This Mercedes was sold andexclusively servicedby Ascot Motors of Sewickley, PA untilAscot closed in the early 2000's. Then, the original owner began taking the car to Bobby Rahal Motor Car Company (Mercedes), Wexford, PA for service. This 300CDhasbeen very well maintained and is an absolute joy to operate. The motorstarts in a nano-second at the turn of the key. The car motors down the road way straight and true providing an ultra-comfortable ride. The transmission shifts matter-of-factly as if newand the engine responds strong when prompted. If you're looking for a low mileage, all original, well maintained, fully documentedW123 coupe to enjoy, at a reasonable price, look no further! I'm not going to elaborate on the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles these cars are worthy of like so many that advertise W123 cars for sale. Who cares! Who would buy a cherry like this to rack up hundreds of thousands of miles???!!!
To date, the W123car is one of thefinestvehicles ever designed and engineered in the world and the coupe is pretty rare at this particularpoint in time; especially those cars with 50,000 miles or less. So, that being said, I'm not looking to hear from anymore of you characters who think I just fell off the turnip truck. I know more than a little about these cars as I've been following them since their inception. Actually, this is my 6th or 7th W123 and my 3rd coupe; this one's the highest mile car of the bunch! In other words, don't contact me and embarrass yourselfby presentingsome cheesy offer! I'm not open to offers on what is actually a rare opportunity. The car is priced fairly given consideration of all parameters. If it were not for the hood and fender, I would not sale this car for anything less than $21,000 - $22,0000. I've seen these cars bring that kind of money and morehere on Ebay. You either want it, or you don't!
Now with that out of the way, let me continue by mentioning there's absolutely no rust that can be detected while looking at the body of this car.The carhasall of its original paint that stillretains anice richluster and shows quite well, indeed. That being said, it is not totally perfect but has nearly made it unscathed throughout its 34 years. There's a few paint chips, a ding or two. Quite recently, the left front fender of the car was scraped by a golf cart causing very very minimal damage that's difficult to discern from 6 feet away; take a look at the photos and note the minor degree I'm referring to.The headline photo was just taken acouple of weeksago and you must admit the car looksabsolutely fabulous. Also, the hood has a dent due to being hit by a golf ball while under the watch of the original owner (just below the cowl panel on the driver's side )......see photo. The MB tex interior appears virtually brand new with the exception of a small wear spot on the lower left side of the driver's seat back caused by the original owner's wallet rubbing on the seatback when he got in and out of the car. The wood trim is like new without a scratch and looks incredible. Look closely at the steering wheel to get an idea of the minimal wear factor of the interior of this car; then pay particular attention to thepristineinterior door panels where you won't find the shriveled-up tex material that is so common on most all the W123 and W107 cars advertised. The original Becker am/fm stereo cassetteoperates perfectly. Everything works with the exception of the clock; it stopped working a couple of years ago. The original wheels look terrific and still carry a fine luster with no chips or paint wear or curb rash.....NO, they've not been refinished! And, all four Michelins were bought new by me and look new withonly a couple of thousand miles of use, at most.
Mechanically, the car's been maintained exceptionally well. Just as an example, over the past 10,000 miles of use, the oil's been changed around 15times. The valves have been adjusted within the past 1000 miles and were nearly in spec before the adjustment. The a/c blows cold and has been updated. When I purchased the vehicle, the odometer read approximately 43,300 miles. This car's always been registered in Pennsylvania; accordingly, the mileage has been recorded annually and maintained on file with the state of Pennsylvania since the car was new.
Please, serious only. Understand this car is offered as a rare opportunity and know that you definitely want this type vehicle before contacting me. I've already reached my quota for being contacted by screwballs. And, don't forget to "check with the wife," unlike so many of thewannabee's out there. Do not contact me prior to "checking with the wife, your maid, your grass cutter, your dry cleaner, your plumber, your butcher or Aunt Esther from Sanford & Son"!So many characters out there with a penchant for wasting people's time.
