1968 Mercedes-Benz 250S
Description
The Boss Man wants space in the warehouse, so we are selling HIS toys!
This is a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 250S Survivor Great Weekend Driver, not a show car, but runs and drives well.
The boss purchased this cream puff to drive around when in town for business purposes. The vehicle has been maintained throughout the few years we've had itand stored inside our facility. This is what we know aboutthe Benz.
Besides regular maintenance and tires, we have really done nothing else to this reliable transportation.
The inline six engine sounds and pulls great. Good oil pressure and no overheating issues. The previous owner put a new battery in it with an MSD ignition coil. Cold startups with the twin Weber carbs are flawless. Heat/defrost works. AC blows cold, but we really haven't used it much.
The transmission shifts fine through all gears and dribbles a little along with the rear axle. We do believe there may be some kind of possible trans mount issue along with maybe a loose exhaust hanger.
Wipers, gauges, interior, dummy, signals, and headlights work. The interior is really nice. A few wooden moldings are needed around driver's window. The rear deck and the power window switch assembly needs some attention. Power windows do work, but driver side needs a little help going up all the way. Windows/glass look to be original with no damage. Inside window lacing/welting is showing its age. Weather sealsarecracked and deteriorating The good 'ol sun has done its thing with the outside rubber around the windshield and rear glass but is not leaking.
The body panels are all straight with all trim andmoldings intact. Few spots of surface rust here and there, but no major dents. Driver's front fender has been repainted at one time and is a slightly different shade with clear coat peeling. All floor and trunk panslook to besolid with some surface/scaling rust, nothing is all the way through. The sill / rocker panel plate along driver's side is probably what needs the most attention with two spots that have rusted through. The spare tire looks to be original. The headliner is taut and is in really great shape. The Benz has that classic car smell with no bad offensive odors.
