Description

A Real Gem offered today with No Reserve - Well maintained / nicely restored classic Mercedes hard/soft top convertible. I love this car and I'm only selling it because I bought an even older SL to replace this one in my collection. I've spent over $3500 on this car this year to make sure its reliable and enjoyable for me and my wife - now it's ready for you and your family.
I've made several videos of the car, See Videos at:

I would prefer a local sale so the new owner can drive and experience the car first hand. If you're not local, feel free to contact me with questions. The car is quite nice and reliable, but it is 40 years old and so it is not perfect. Feel free to ask any questions and I can provide photos of the exceptionally clean undercarriage as well. New owner pays shipping, but I can help you arrange shipping.

These cars were made with 3 engine sizes over the years and this early example is one of the most desirable with the large 4.5 liter Overhead Cam V8 with double timing chain. It has much higher value than the 380SL which had a smaller engine and single timing chain. It is valued by Hagerty at $17,000 in good condition and NADA Blue Book shows low retail value at $13,000.
These cars are appreciating in value and this is a beautiful, investment-grade roadster that can still be enjoyed on the road "right out of the box". The one thing to watch out for on these beautiful SL cars is rust. This is an Arizona car with Zero Rust and Zero Accidents.
The car was professionally maintained by MB dealer in Arizona for many years by it's first owner, a Real Estate agent.
The doors and hood shut with a solid "thunk" like a bank vault, and the mechanicals are known for their legendary Mercedes Benz last-forever bullet proof engineering.
Hagerty values this car in average condition at $17,000 - will close auction early if you wish to make an offerVehicle is for sale locally and owner reserves the right to end auction early if it sells locally
