Description

For Sale:

1985 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbo Diesel LOW ORIGINAL MILES, only 68,600!!!!!Yes, 68,600 original miles!!!!!!

This was my aunts car.My aunt is 87 years old. She bought it BRAND NEW and it’s been garage kept it’s whole life!!!

In 2016, she stopped driving it and stored it in her garage for about a year or so, I got it after that, I drove it from her house in Pennsylvania and drove it to my house in Maryland, (which is almost 200 miles).

This Mercedes W123is offered with the original owner’s manual, original bill of sale, service/repair receipts/factory service records dating back to new! My aunt kept most ofher service receipts.I will give that all to you when it sells.

This isone of the finest examples of an all original unmolested completely bone stock 300D. All numbers matching as well.

LOW MILE cars like this are harder and harder to come by in this original condition/original paint! especially with less than 100,000 miles!

This was the last year of the W123. ---Super Rare Diamond Blue Really nice body/paint condition- no rust. With a good buffing & polishing & waxing the original paint would look even better!!

No ACCIDENTS EVER, no stories, there is a small/minor ding on the trunk lid, hardly noticeable

The interior is in unbelievable/excellent condition! The seats are in near perfect

condition,no rips, no tears, no stains, no fading, you will be impressed! My 87-year-old aunt had seat covers on the front seats, which kept the seats looking great!!!! She had no children,so the back seat was hardly used. The carpets are even in excellent condition too!

All the rubber/weather-stripping also in great shape, not cracked up at all. Undercarriage is nice too,

This would make an AMAZING addition to your collection or simply an amazing daily driver. Either way, the car is a total HEAD TURNER!

·Radio even works

·Speedometer & odometer works

·Gas gauge works

·Other gauges work

·The sunroof even works, my aunt probably opened it once or twice in 33 years. I opened it once, and it’s slow as a turtle, lol... probably due to never being used!Probably could use some good lubrication.

Recent things done:

·New fuel filters

·Brake system was flushed

Things to do:

The blower motor for the heater, AC, defroster, etc...possibly needs to be replaced/fixed.I’m not sure if itsneeds a new blower motor or fuse or whatever. It could be something simple.

The side molding on the passenger side fender (just a few inches on the beginning part came loose) it appears that a fastener/clip came loose causing it come loose, it isslightly bent, but can easily be straightened.

- If you're not familiar with these cars, they are built like tanks. The engine that powers this car is the Mercedes-Benz OM617, 5-cylinder diesel engine. These engines are known for insanely long lifespans.

I've talked a lot of folks who own these Diesels and been toldthey go up to and over500,000 miles, and their cars were still running strong. A well-maintained Mercedes diesel engine will run for 500,000 miles and longer.

For these engines, 68,600 miles is nothing.

The point is, you can pay a few bucks for this car now, and it will still be running strong 30 years later, no joke. (Just make sure you change the oil regularly, and don't forget to change the transmission fluid occasionally.)

Anyway, it looks good; it drives well. It's solid and reliable. I drove it from my aunt’s house over a year ago to my houseand would have no problem driving again or taking it on a longer trip. It's a good car. If you are looking for a car to last the ages, this is a good buy. You can drive it as is, or you can put a little work into it to get it even better.
I'm selling it because Ihave too many cars and this deserves to go to someone who will appreciate it and enjoy it….I personally only driven it less than 10 times, since I’ve had it……and it needs to go to someone who will drive it instead of letting it sit.

Make it a daily driver or add it to your collection!

No disappointments!

Garaged and Meticulously Maintained throughout its life has this 300D running well...My aunt took really good care of it and did all of the regular/routine maintenance on it…… It starts immediately, has excellent power, and shifts smooth timely and proper. The steering is tight, and the suspension is controlled and supple.

The car brakes well without pulling or pulsations.

All options work including all windows, sunroof, power antenna, and door locks.

All of glass is in great shape too, no cracks, chips.

Tires have good tread.

Listed below are some questions that people have asked me about the car. I thought it would be helpful to share them with everyone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interior questions: Has this car ever been smoked in? Have pets ridden in it? Any weird smells? How are the carpets? Any cracks in the interior wood trim anywhere? How's the headliner?

Response: My aunt doesn't smoke and she never let anyone smoke in it. There has never been in any pets in it. No weird/odd smells. The carpets are in really great condition, my aunt put mats/carpets on top of the original carpets. There are no cracks in the wood trim, it's in really nice condition. The headliner is in really nice condition. Keep in mind, this car is 33 years old.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exterior questions:Does it have any dents? rust holes, or major scratches? I don't care about minor scratches, I expect that, being over 30 years old, I'm sure your aunt drove the car and parked it in parking lots, shopping centers, its expected. Do you think having the paint buffed, polished and waxed will bring out the beautiful color?

Response: No dents, rust holes or major scratches. Yes, I think if you have it professionally detailed; buffing the paint and waxing it, it will look even better. Yes, being 30 years old, my aunt parked it in parking lots, etc. Please keep in mind the paint/body is 33 years old, I don’t want people to expect a show car, its not, it was my aunts daily driver, even though she didn't put a lot of miles on it. I can honestly say she took really good care of it. I'm not sure when the last time she had it waxed, but I’m sure it’s been a long time. Keep in mind, this car is 33 years old.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fluid questions: I've a few questions on when the last time the antifreeze, transmission fluids were changed? I noticed that you had the brake system fluid flushed.

Response: I will look thru the receipts, but it's probably been a while, so you may want to have those fluids changed anyway. Yes, the brake fluid/system was flushed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunroof questions: As I mentioned in my ad, the sunroof has only been opened (maybe) 2-3 times in 33 years, and I opened once, about a year ago and it was slow as turtle, so, I strongly recommend getting it serviced before trying to open it up again, because it may or (may not) close.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Engine questions:Were the glow plugs ever replaced? You mentioned that the blower motor inoperable, I guess it affects the heat & AC, and defroster, and have you taken it somewhere to be looked at?

Response: Yes, I think I saw a receipt for the glow plugs, they were replaced a while ago. As far as the blower motor, as I mentioned, I’m not sure if its needs a new blower motor, fuse or whatever. I honestly don't know, I never took it anywhere to get looked at. I only drove the car maybe 8 times, and didnt have a need to use those components.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miscellaneous questions

I’ve had a few questions on how long a certain part will last and have been asked to even predict the future of the engine/transmission/driveline, etc. Or what kind of service work it will need in the future. Being such a low mile car, a major of the parts are ALL ORIGINAL. All I can say is please realize that this car is over 30 years old and I honestly don't know how long a certain part will last and can’t predict the future of the engine/transmission/driveline, etc. Just being honest.

Hopefully these questions/responses will help answer some of your questions/concerns.
