When the 230SL came on the scene in 1963 it was much improved over it's predecessor, the 190SL. Front disc brakes and independent rear suspension were nice advancements, but the big news was the fuel injected 2.3 litre six. Now silky smooth and capable the 230SL sold well, and was soon nicknamed the "Pagoda" SL because of it's tiered hard top shape. Today these wonderful Mercedes' have a huge following and are very popular with discerning collectors, both men and...women.
